SortBench for SysMon : Ask for tests and results
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

See User information
Hi,
I'm planning to add SortBench bench to SysMon (in the same style that I added RageMem/SDLBench results).

To have some results from others systems before to release it, I need some results with the exact same binary.

Could you execute this binary (compiled with -O2) and post your results here, please ?

http://zzd10h.amiga-ng.org/sortBench/sortBench_O2.lha

For example, on my X1000 :

16/0.RAM Disk:> sortBench_O2
-------------------------------------------------- -----------
SORTBENCH 1.1 (Gunnar von Boehn)
Its a CPU benchmark that stresses CPU, DCache and branch prediction.
CPU: P.A. Semi PWRficient PA6T-1682M @ 1800MHz; L1:65536 L2:2097152 L3:0
-------------------------------------------------------------
 1K Element :  2122 MB/sec
 2K Element :  2123 MB/sec
 4K Element :  2122 MB/sec
 8K Element :  2128 MB/sec
16K Element :  2134 MB/sec
32K Element :  1594 MB/sec

Thank you
Guillaume

With pleasure

AmigaOneX1000 here aswell

If i turn EVERYTHING off i can nearly reach your numbers, otherwise it's far less (stressing the cpu when CANDI is running degrades the outcome)

CPU: P.A. Semi PWRficient PA6T-1682M @ 1800MHz; L1:65536 L2:2097152 L3:0

4K Element : 2126 MB/sec
8K Element : 2125 MB/sec
16K Element : 2133 MB/sec
32K Element : 1695 MB/sec

But that is with nothing more than the bare system running (and some background tasks i didn't catch)

I had similar number running sortbench from my day to day workbench

You can try to put everything to rest for the benchmark

Open Exchange and inactivate everything (except Exchange of course) and rerun the benchmark

Strangely, I have better results than you with my normal system (with all my wbstartup, x-dock, clock and all my zzdockies).

@ddni
"but sinec update1 I cannot access the early boot menu..."
I just tested, no problem, it works here (FE upd 1)

@Others
Another benchs not on x1000 ?

thx

Maybe it's the connected mouse?

I also cannot access the arly Startup Menu (Hold both mouse buttons pressed?)

hmm. I will fiddle with a different mouse. This is the AEon AmigaOne mouse though... I'll try a different port.

EDIT

Changing to a different USB port worked. Very odd, the previous port always work under FE.

@tommysammy You should follow Raziel's advice because the benchmark is not supposed to access RAM.

@elwood Strange, your results are 2 times smaller than other Sam460 users. Either you have a process that consumes CPU in the background or you overclocked the CPU and that has an effect.

@zzd10h I will run it on my uAOne.

@all

To be complete as possible, it lacks the following systems

Amiga 1200 PPC
Amiga 4000 PPC
Pegasos 2 G3
Sam460cr 1100 MHz
AmigaOne SE G3
AmigaOne XE G3
AmigaOne X5000

Thank you for your results if you own one of this system

I kept only the best bench for each system and I added too some results found in apollo forum
