From the press release:
"Version 0.54 of the Radeon HD driver, which has been exclusively funded by and licensed to A-EON Technology, will be available for download from the A-EON Technology website in the near future."

The emphasis was added by me. So, it will be available soon. The only people who have installed version 0.54 of the driver right now, are beta testers. All that I can tell you is that my Radeon HD 7770 is working really well in my A1-X1000.

Uh, the press release talks about an update to the 2D driver that adds support for Radeon HD 7000 series graphics cards. Nothing more; nothing less. If 3D drivers were being released, then you can be sure that the press release would be trumpeting that fact in full chorus. The same goes for any other big feature addition, be it textured video, GART support, or anything else that's still on the to-do list. When those improvements are released, the corresponding press release will tell you.

Don't worry, 3D support is being actively worked on, and it is coming. You just need to be patient a little while longer.

Adding Radeon HD 7000 series support is a pretty major milestone. This marks the first time in ages that AmigaOS supports the latest in graphics card technology.
