No, it won't. At least not for the near future. I am not going to start working on supporting cards newer than the Radeon HD 4000 series until the Radeon HD 4000 series support is up to a high enough standard (by that I mean that we have 3D support, GART, etc.). Trying to keep up with the latest developments will only result in nothing being finished properly.

Having said that, thanks for the link. I have downloaded the microcode for the newer GPUs for later use.

@Hans: well, marking the microcode for later when the 4xxx series is acceptably complete before the 5xxx series support properly starts is at least showing the functionality is roadmapped :)

I've got a 5450 and I'll definitely be waiting for when the drivers are happilly updated enough for you to start expanding to the newer cards
