AmiSSL
Quite a regular

Hey,

Seems like AmiSSL v3 isn't working on various/most websites since quite a while. Is this because the 68k release is based on OpenSSL 0.9.7 while 0.9.8 has been out for a couple of years?

Or if you have other suggestions I'd like to hear of course.

Visit this site with a properly installed and running AmiSSL installation.
If it shows "AES cipher, 256-bit key" you are on the safe side and AmiSSL is running.

The fact that "various/most websites" doesn't work "since quite a while" implies (at least to me) that you may have broken your installation since.

In any case, if you think you aren't safe enough, install and test AmiSSL again

I examined the install script for AmiSSL 3.6 and didn't find anything that would help. Then I used it anyway.

Both with IBrowse and mere OpenSSL I get "no cipher list" from fortify.net

e: Never mind, I realized where the ciphers are in v3.

Bear in mind that OS4 ships with the same version of OpenSSL (0.9.7g) as is used in the 68k 3.6 build. It is safe to enable all ciphers via the IBrowse prefs - you will probably find that DH is disabled, and that's because it is incredibly slow on 68k . There shouldn't be any problems with AmiSSL on OS3.x or OS4.
