Regarding the JIT for E-UAE bounty does anyone have anything to add to the bounty description found here:
http://amigabounty.net/?function=viewproject&projectid=35

Any special requirements to test a finished result of the bounty.

I don't not understand what Sharing the Clipboard has to do with JIT ?.

It's unrelated to JIT, but it's a useful feature to have, if you want to copy something from e-uae's workbench for example, and then paste it into os4's workbench.

I have a shared clipboard between PC and OS4. It's very convenient. It's like having one computer with two screens. :)

Yes but that is just an update to E-UAE... but clearly the Topic is only writting a JIT.

I think the bounty has to be split.

These things should not be in the bounty, writing a JIT compiler is a hard task as it is, lets not change focus to unreleased things.

So please remove:

- Sharing the clipboard between the emulation and the host.
- Preferably use shared objects (especially for SDL).

I agree with rwo and LiveForIt.

The clipboard sharing, while it could be nice, is nowhere near as necessary as a 68k -> PPC JIT for E-UAE and doesn't really belong in this bounty IMO. IMHO it would be silly to refuse to pay money to a developer who has implemented 68k -> PPC JIT only because he hasn't implemented this one irrelevant feature.

As for using shared objects, that should only be a matter of adding -use-dynld to the commandline for linking the program so it doesn't really have to be part of the bounty either.

Thanks for your input.
First JIT only bounty, then improvements to E-UAE bounty.

The phrasing of "Bring JIT 68k code emulation to the OS4 version of E-UAE. " may prevent inventive coders from using OS4's native 68k JIT ability. If Shapeshifter can use the 68k processor of underlying OS, then maybe UAE could too...

Sorry if I didn't get back to you before. Damn days of 24 hours

Some people suggested that lack of JIT was not the only problem of speed in E-UAE. Emulating the chipset is an area that needs more work.

So maybe the bounty should be changed to "make it faster", but how to put words on this?

Yes you have right there are a lot of aspects that need attention from the developers but JIT is important IMHO, so i would not change the name of the bounty
