To reinstall my MicroA1 in its case. Specifically where the cables plug into the motherboard.

No documentation came with it ( preinstall ) and I know I shouldn't have removed it ......

I don't know if this will help, but you can give it a whirl, maybe the pics can help?

Get familiar with the information located at IntuitionBase.com.

I also found NeRP's site highly useful.

Have you searched the disks that came with the computer? I recall wondering where this info was for my preinstalled A1XE and found lots of info on one of the disks that came with my system. Hope this helps.

Over time many have discovered much of the information on those disks to be inaccurate. I would recommend Mitch stick to what is available on the net at this point in time.

Indeed there are some bad documents out there, most notably the one from MAI/TERON.

I found Nerps site to be excellent, as well as the article at IntuitionBase.

I documented some of the rough spots in an article with photos here
http://www.ncscaug.us/ua1page1.htm

The erroneous serial port pinouts have been corrected at the two websites listed above. And are shown corrected in my article.

The "unusual" USB pinouts are documented in my article.

Instructions on how to adapt the smaller IDE connector to support full sized drives are also shown, with lots of pictures.

The proof that my article is right will have to be that the computer I built in those photos has been in use every day since then, and I'm writing this on it now.

Relax, the resources you need are all around you.
Take a deep breath, ask questions as you go, and we'll have you back in gear in no time at all.

Thank you, I got my A1 up and running. I now have a strange problem.

If I boot from an earlier disk for OS4 it works fine, I can install and everything works!

If I boot from the latest update4 it loads kickstart and just goes blank.

I've read through the FAQs on IntuitionBase and it doesn't fit any of the problems described. If anyone has any clue I'd appreciate it, I really don't want to have to rely on an older version...

Hi @Mitch

If I boot from the latest update4 it loads kickstart and just goes blank.

A common problem for Updat#4 until the "final" update. Can't tell
you what the problem was, but i suspected the video driver or
graphics. OS4 'final' cured it all.
