HD7770 vs RX550 / RX560

See User information
I currently have a Sam460 with a Radeon HD7770.
I'm considering upgrading to one of the above models to take advantage of the new video drivers from A-EON.

Apart from video, am I likely to see any major performance gains elsewhere?
I know there are plenty of comparison sites that will gives stats on other platforms but would like something a bit more OS4 specific.

I know there will be no Warp3D but this looks likely to be mostly covered by other work going on.

Cheers

I tried RX580 and RX550 on my X5000.

RX 550 is slower than my R7 265.
RX 580 is faster than my R7 265.

Both RX550 and RX580 have some problems with Warp3D Nova apps (freezing, blank screen) with current public version of drivers. So I decided to use R7 265 for some time..

Probably that will change with new drivers updates from A-Eon.

Interesting, thanks for letting me know.
Did you by chance try either of those on your Sam460?

I was considering the RX550 and RX560 as I had seen two specific models that work on the Sam460 on another thread.

Didn't really want to chance buying something that may not work.

Wait until Enhancer 2 is released before considering to change the 7770 for something newer. It might turn out that you don't need to.

I was under the impression that the new drivers that will be released with Enhancer 2 only benefit video performance on cards with the Polaris chipset.

I may have that wrong of course.

Is a RX 560 from different manufacturers likely to be the same in terms of compatibility?
Is a XFX RX560 likely to work if an ASUS RX560 does?

It's not been publicly announced but the Southern Islands cards will have UVD support in OS4 too. The SI cards don't support 4K decoding but unless you already have or intend to get a 4K monitor you should be fine with the HD7770.

I was told about this by Matthew back in February when I visited AmigaKit. I thought it was important to mention it here and now since you might have ended up spending money on an RX5x0 card only to find out later that you didn't need to.

No I don't have a 4k monitor or plans to get one.
So I will stick with the HD7770.
Thanks for the info.
