Thank you for sharing this video.

Is the english subtitles version available directly on YouTube ?

I used SMTube to download http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRpgu5E85Z0 but it's the swedish non subtitled version.

Using Odyssey to watch the english subtitled video works but is really not usable to watch quietly a long video (100% CPU and little window).

The beginning of the video looked very promising "Guru is gone but problems persists"

I created the subtitles in amara.org: http://www.amara.org/sv/videos/QOzN34rxAl14/en/1110095/

From there you can download subtitle files; perhaps itt's possible to use those in SMTube?

Download the video with smtube and download the .srt subtutle file into the
same directory. Name the subtitle file the same as the video file name but
with a .srt extension instead of .mp4 or what ever extension the video file has.

i.e. video.mp4 and video.srt

Then play with mplayer and the subtitles will be displayed.

If you want to burn (encode) the subtitles into the video so you don't need the
subtitle file to display the titles you can use SimpleSub or VideoClipper found
on OS4Depot.

I didn't know either!

I liked the way Joeled choose to present Java and Amiga.
He seemed to be a little impressed during the presentation.
I also liked the questions of the audience about Amiga like
Is your portable an Amiga? If only that could be true...

Since a lot of months without an amiga to love, I was lost.
Now I feel happiness again with a Sam Flex 800 .

Thank you for your kind comments! I've actually held basically the same presentation on a few other occasions. Both for Java-developers and general nerds. The general impression is that people have very fond memories of Amiga, and they're mostly unaware of the existence of new computers.

I once started by showing the "Only Amiga makes it possible"-video and overheard someone in the crowd saying "it was really true, only Amiga made it possible".

Thanks a lot for the subtitles.

Nice presentation. I didn't know all these details about Java implementations.

If you use YT.rexx (search for YouTube on OS4Depot) you can watch this video with captions just by using "RX YT <link> captions". Captions support can be permanently enabled at the top of the script. The language code for this video is en-US if you want to use autoplay.

If you want to stop it displaying the "adaptive stream" links after choosing to play the video, use/set SkipDASH. Whenever there's reason to update it, I'll make it move on to the next video (where applicable) or quit after choosing to play a video, regardless of the skipdash setting.
