Just downloaded Blender from os4depot but it won't start -
I get "Couldn't create MiniGL context" when I run it (double click icon from extracted folder). I'm on OS 4.1 u3 on an AmigaOne, G3 Radeon 7000. Any Ideas ? I can't tell if ***GL is working or not. |

Did Radeon7000 have support by warp3d ?
To test if warp3d works for you at all or not, just download "TheVague" diskmag from os4depot (any issues), and try to run it. Mag use pure Warp3d, and if it will not works, then you just not have working warp3d and minigl of course will not works. |

Yep, warp3d then works, try now that demo for example, to see, if minigl works for you too. |

@agafaster
How much video ram do you have? And how much is free? What size workbench screen are you running on? What version of minigl.library do you have? Did you READ the README? |

@Kas1e
Blender won't even get as far as saying it can't open a mingl context id there is no minigl, so we can be sure that it exists. |

Same problem here on PegII G4 with Radeon 9250. MiniGL context could not be created.
Any solution available yet? |

Same setup here: Pegasos II with Radeon 9250 and Blender starts and works just like it should. Running Update 4 of course. |

Hm, strange. I'm also using update4. What might make the difference? Do you use WAZP3D? Or what version of minigl do you use?

Here on my Peg2 ever worked, before with Radeon9250 and now with Radeon9000pro with every AmigaOS4.1 version and MiniGL version from the ones suported by blender... So you have to try to found some software issue... |

If you are using a Radeon 9250 you shouldn't need WazP3D What screen resolution are you running blender on? How are you starting it? Do any other 3d apps run? Any of the minigl demos for instance? What version of minigl do you have? |

Just downloaded and tried ASG from OS4Depot. Works without problems (switches itself to 800x600). >What version of minigl do you have? version minigl.library tells me 2.5 What the ...! Just gave it another try and now it started flawlessly (in Germany we call this demonstration-effect)! Really strange! I'll keep an eye on it! |

My guess is that you were low on video memory so couldn't create the required double buffered environment. That's quite a large screen, so if you have any other apps open (especialy on other screens) you might start to get a bit tight. A lot depnds on how much you have cusomised your workbench etc, how much textures and imagery. Blender can be made to open with a smaller window by editing it startup script (the icon launches a script called blender thactaual executable is call 'bldyn') and adding -p <x> <y> <width> <height> to the command line eg
changetaskpri -1
The lines in comments are examples for other ways to start belender up. try bldyn --help for more info or chaek out http://www.broad.ology.org.uk/amiga/blender/ |
