Do you mean this:

AmigaOS %r running on %c with %mftmMB Memory, ATI M9 %mgm MB free, %mm MB Memory free

I use the following (IMHO) much more helpful Workbench title:

Amiga Sam440 Workbench   %m bytes (%mq%%) free   %mgm MB video free

Graphically what runs on OS4?

I am surprised that no-one mentioned TV Paint! Last year I even made any easy way to install it, since installation is tricky from the official DMS files:

good point. TVpaint flat flies on my SAM. just last night i was showing my daughter (six years-old) how to create bubble effects with it.

wish i had known about your installation archive, chris! it would have saved me some time getting everything installed properly the first time around. ;)

Forgot to say that the floppy disk noise is a nice touch!

Is there a turbo mode to load the games faster?

Thanks!

You should read the manual

Try the RunInUAE menu "Control E-UAE > Set floppy disk drive speed to > x4". If that works with the game, then try x8, but if it did NOT work then try x2. (BTW, the game must be running first.)

Or alternatively just use WHDLoad versions of games, which are HD-installed, and so much faster.

GLQuake 51.4 fps Timedemo Demo2

On stock SAM440ep 666MHz

I can't seem to be able to change resolution anywhere though...

The other one; Quake, won't run, I just get a black screen with a pointer.

A decent workbench clock anyone?

there are several, the most popular seem to be flipclock and limpidclock, both available on os4depot. just search for 'clock' and you'll get 'em both.

just copy it where you like (for example, "System:Utilities/Commodities") and add it to WBStartup in the prefs drawer. that's it. you can modify things via the tooltypes in the flipclock icon and switch to and from it via the exchange commodity.

Done.

I get this message:

ACHTUNG, FEHLER!!!
Flipclock kann den Befehl WGET im Workbench C/-Verzeichniss NICHT finden!

And another question...why don't the contents inside the windows snapshot and stay in the place I have put them?

Thanks.

hmmm. i'm actually a limpidclock guy, so can't help you on the positioning thing. but as for the error message, it looks like you don't have the wget tool on your system, which apparently flipclock needs. download this and install just the 'wget' binary in C: via the shell. you can throw the rest away.

on the contrary i'm very impressed. i can't even get GLquake to run on my SAM-flex no matter what i do. it just hangs the system.

the software version runs very well and i get around 25fps with demo2 at 800x600 with my lowly SAM-flex @ 667MHz. would love to get GLquake running, especially if it would mean better performance!

I have got the opposite result, GLQuake runs fine, Quake doesn't, but I can't see how to change resolution in GLQuake.

I prefer TitlebarClock. It's a digital clock which fits entirely in the Workbench titlebar, and optionally shows you how long the system has been up & running for.

EDIT: Ah, screenshots? Here's what it looks like for me.

My choice in terms of clocks is digiclock by AlexC. Very small by size, very nice fit to titlebar of wb , and have no glitches/bugs at all. There is few screens.
