Hmm... Maybe the spaces in the dir fucks up somehow. Could you maybe try and install again to just work:qt-4.7 and see if it works?

I tested all demos and examples and all worked just fine. I started them from Workbench doubleclicking their icons. There's few graphical glitches in few places. (Some of them was maybe because running out of video mem.)

Download manager didn't work and this was in the debug output:
socketSignalMask = 0x4000000
QProcessPrivate::initializeProcessManager()
QProcessPrivate::initializeProcessManager() END
ASSERT: "!isEmpty()" in file /qt/include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/tools/qlist.h, line 269

Btw. Using prefs program to enable middle button for context menus didn't work without rebooting. I thought it would work right away after saving new prefs.

Very good work ! Maybe you could help the other guy working on WxWidgets ?!

Tried too with Wazp3D on a Sam460ex with a RadeonHD 4550 and yes, it works, that's by itself simply great!

Graphic is a complete garbage, completely unreadable, tomorrow I'll upload some screenshot.

Speedwise it is slow, I think just a little bit slower than AmiCygnix softwares.

Stability is seriously an issue and the log by grimreaper tell me that many times is the Warp3d (Wazp3D renamed library) that crashed.

Sorry, I have to disagree. Spaces in filenames and dirnames is a must.

This is absolute Amiga style and all software - proper written - has to deal with it. I don't know where exactly, but there was some interview with one of the original OS coders and he admitted that i.e. the "RAM Disk" was named with a space in it *on purpose* - "the programmers should be forced to deal with that standard device with a space in it's name".

Sorry for the late reply, I'll just wait till you get around that fix then, am sure you have enough bods testing QT already.

Request, Request:

I know we're still in the beta phase, but I would like to recommend another strategy for the downloadable archives. It would be nice to have a real difference in SDK and USER archives, where the user archive with the minimal data structure for running Qt apps and the prefs program should go onto the SYS: partition. The SDK archive should go wherever the user wants and should not interfere with the user archive installation.

At the moment it seems to me, that the SDK is a bigger user archive, sharing the same assigns. I tried to work out different places for both with this kind of startup script:

;BEGIN Qt-4.7
assign Qt
"SYS:System/Qt-4.7"
assign Qt"Work:Development/Qt-4.7" ADD
path Qt
:bin ADD
assign sobjs
sys:sobjs
assign sobjs
Qt:lib ADD
;END Qt-4.7

There's no bin directory in the SYS:System "Qt:" and there's no lib in the Work:...-"Qt:". It seems to work so far, but it would be nice when such an arrangement would be preconfigured by the distribution.

Some bug (maybe): Setting the String Codec with the Qt prefs to anything else than default leads to nothing. The ENV variable is always an empty NULL file.

About splitting up the directories: I might try and do this for the "final" release, but for now no, I have other priorities than bothering with file placement (just keeping everything together is by far the easiest for me).

Ok sorry for delay, i was offline for 4 days !

Well here is my full report on my system (Sam Flex 800, AmigaOS 4.1 Update 2 with Radeon 9250)

When i boot AmigaOS and start the first QT examples/demos i always get an assign window requester even if i have all in user startup (all done by the main installer of course)

This is my user-startup:

Quote:
;BEGIN Qt-4.7
assign Qt: "AmigaOS4:Programmi/Qt-4.7"
assign sobjs: sys:sobjs
assign sobjs: Qt:lib ADD
;END Qt-4.7

Aniway a single assign is (then) enough to start all examples/demos in QT's archive.

So here the complete test:

Thanks to you, now it's pretty stable here, only 1 crash in tons of examples and a few graphic corruption is well, nearly great !

Just don't understand why you added this strange mouse wheel support, if i scroll up the bar scroll down and viceversa, aniway as Roman say the only problem now is the speed and .. of course some more work to integrate it more with the Amiga UI, but all can be done later i think ...

Aniway if i can ask what i would like to see in this camp is:

- An iconify gadget for all QT windows examples
- More interaction with AmiDock (application.library support ?)
- Using datatype instead ?
- An option to turn off the shell output
- Sharing clipboard from QT apps to/from other non-QT apps ?
- Amiga native fonts (already asked i know !)
- Get rid of all that window alignment issues, expecially on the about window, pretty annoying this strange auto-allineament

And more ...

Lot of things i know but this project is very very important for our community, step by step all can be done i hope, i really hope !

Easy Image Sizer works, but there is a curious problem with the replacement ASL requester.

Clicking ... next to "Save in directory" opens an ASL requester as expected. However, it is completely frozen!

I assume there is a bug in the translation between Qt and native dialogs causing ASL to be passed an invalid pointer.

Source is in the above archive too if you want to check it out.

>With wazp3D it works. It's a lot buggy but the program opens at least

Hello I am the Wazp3D author

I have installed QT (it was a pain as it needed libintl.so libssl.so libiconv.so)

I tested textedit too

My diagnostic is that the frame is not cleared after all has been drawn with Wazp3D
So it happen 2 corruptions:
1) When the text is moved or redrawn elsewhere --> there are still the old text behind
2) As the blending function (transparency) is W3D_ONE,W3D_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA then then redrawing several time (without clearing) the same things (like textedit icons) lead to white saturation

Seems that QT never call Warp3D to clean the screen (ie it never call W3D_ClearDrawRegion() or W3D_ClearBuffers() )
But perhaps it clean the screen with graphics.library (allowed too) but then Wazp3D should works nicely as it works for other progs that clean the screen with graphics.library

Very curious ??!??!!!
Perhaps the bug is in minigl but I searched a few inside the minigl sources but all seems ok in minigl

Thanks for the report, I will take a closer look shortly.

@thellier

About the install problem, I have no idea why it happens, since the extra libraries are included in the archive. Maybe something is wrong with the "copylibs" command in the installer?

About wazp3d problems, there is probably not a lot I can do about it. Since it works with both minigl and mesa on other platform, I think that the "problem" is with wazp3d. Maybe there is some kind of API "discrepancy" (as with the blocked text in minigl), if that's the case, then I think that wazp3d should be somehow fixed to cope with it.
