Anyone still working on?
I still have a graphic glitch in PrBoom (post #121), maybe worth to investigate if caused by MiniGL or something else

From time to time i stumble over an SDL/OpenGL oddity which leaves me with a completely white screen.

@capehill found that it might be an unsupported gltype in minigl
Quote:

I guess problem is the type:

32820 (0x8034): #define GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT_5_5_5_1 0x8034

There is no "unpacker" in MiniGL for this type, see http://www.hyperion-entertainment.com ... s/updates-kc/src/unpack.c for supported unpackers.

You should probably discuss about this issue in MiniGL thread. Maybe it's possible to implement, but it's a different matter whom/when.

See the thread piece here for reference.

Can someone please confirm this is the porblem and maybe comment on the possibility to implement it?

Done, I just added this:
glGet(GL_VENDOR) now returns "The MiniGL Team (minigl.library X.YY)", so it now contains the MiniGL lib's version number.

from post #118 is in there (at least it doesn't display) nor the changes you did for the residualvm z-ordering (and other) issue(s) are gone aswell.
Furthermore the version is back to 2.20?

I got a minigl inside a subdir named "506" from above link.

Did i miss the switch to another download link somwhow?

edit: oh, and i get a big (15 cm) black bar overdrawing the right game screen now in residualvm...

Latest (2.23) should be on Hyperion SVN

http://www.hyperion-entertainment.com ... c/precompiled_binaries.7z

glGet(GL_VENDOR) thing seems fixed aswell, but started from 2,24 (unreleased)

Do you know what the difference between "spe_full_native" and "spe_ppc_compatible" is comparing with "ppc"

AFAIK you should use the "spe_ppc_compatible" version as "spe_full_native" exports functions using SPE ABI and is therefore incompatible with any program not specifically compiled for SPE and for this version of the library.

And what does "spe" mean?

I'm on an X1000 if that matters?

It's the FPU equivalent of the CPU used in the Tabor/A1222, that also has a limited SIMD capability.

Sooo, if i'm not on Tabor, what would be the benefit of using the spe release?

X1000 does feature a (hardware) FPU, doesn't it?

Yes, the A1-X1000 has a standard PPC FPU so you should use the generic PPC binary on it.

Can you do a quick test on your Pegasos 2 ?
I'm curious to know if Soms3D works on you having installed the latest MiniGL 2.23 ..

http://os4depot.net/?function=showfil ... e=game/fps/soms3d_upd.lha

On Sam440 the game will start, i can ever hear the music in background and the game seems working in general, when you press the arrows keys you can even hear the walking sound so game is ok ... but there is no video ouput at all, all i have is a black screen ..

More than 1 year passed now .. perhaps can we think about a public release of what we currently have?

I still have some minor glitch with PrBoom (post #121) but apart this everything seems almost ok for a release, considering we have the ancient 2.20 on os4depot
