Hi @desler

From this version and forwards CW do no longer rely on SDL and all operations are now native.
SDL and Update1 have been clashing a lot here. This sounds great! Still haven't figured why the a CW assign still fails. Yep, never had a assign failure with anything until CW. It's a total mystery, but I'll give a go with the new version! BTW, I',m not using Update1, so I'll let know how it develops plain OS4.1...

The most recent version of Cinnamon Writer 0.69 crashes with a DSI error on my machine. Seems to happen if I list font size on default settings.

Earlier versions are more stable for me.

Compositing (transparency effects) turned off to conserve video RAM.

UPDATE...

Not crashing now after I deleted all copies of Cinnamon Writer and unachived the new lha file again.

My system has been acting up lately. Maybe time to format disk and start from scratch again.

CW is getting better and better.

Here's a bug i want to report:

- Starting CW
- Typing anything "bla blabla.."
- Clicking on "New Document" Button
-> Now Bug#1: CW does not asks me to save my stuff.

- Nevertheless typing again anything "bla bla bla bla blablabla" and clicking once again the "New Document Button"
-> Bug#2: Program crashes

Is it planned for CW to insert Images into the Document? Combined with CW's nice PDF export it would be great.

Thanks for your support.

That would be great. Then I'd only need a way to use my network scanner from the A1 and I'd be able to scan magazine articles using only the A1.

I've downloaded it and install it :

2 things (after some minutes of use):

1st: always same problem with printing : I can't ! The problem comes from ghostscript. Could you make a printing option without having to use GS ?

2nd: why a temporary file with the name of the font is saved in RAM ? What it's used for ?

Otherwise, thanks for this new version. It is faster and also the pull-down menu of the fonts choice and size.

Nic

Thanks for the observation, I will look into the issues you have found.

Regarding future versions I indeed do plan to add support for insertion of images and tables. I have compiled a little list of the major features I wish to add before reaching version 1.0.

0.70-> Spellchecking
0.80 -> Modern read/write capabilities (support for ODF or DocX)
0.90 -> Advanced layout options like tables, images and columns

Keep on, great progress so far

but...

you should really see if you can't get hold of a bug tracker, really
It would be a win-win for both sides
The user can chack back and see if their bugs have been adressed and you as a dev won't loose items in the noise of the internet forums

After some struggle, I have now made the newest version of CW available.
...
Download it now!

I have a weak remembrance that CinamonWriter once was developed by or for "Titan Computer" and could run on OS 3.x - but on your hp I can only see versions for OS4 and MorphOS.

Is the OS 3.x version still available somewhere?
Which was the last version number of the old CW?

You are mixing up Cinnamon Writer (by Desler) and Papyrus Office (by Titan Computer). There is no OS3 version of Cinnamon AFAIK.

You're right.
My fault - sorry.
Must have been due to my progressing senilism...
