I would like to have 2.0.14 released. Problem is that nobody is testing the release candidate so there is no feedback.

I recompiled Pekka Kana 2 and linked against 2.0.14 RC1. Played it for some time. Same for other projects. No noticeable problems compared to 2.0.12 detected.

Not related to 2.0.14 but SDL2 in general:

Various (wip) ports show the following on exit and crash after clicking "OK":

@Raziel: yes, default is compositing.

@IamSONIC: always or sometimes? Is there some common factor, like mentioned MPEG decoding? I don't remember seeing this kind of window very recently.

That on latest public newlib.library and latest GCC with "thread" fixes, or?

Why I ask, because I had such issues with the Minetest port, just once threading in GCC were fixed it start to behave correctly.

Latest newlib.library from Hotfix for Update 2 and GCC 9.1 (now alpha-3) from sTix:

https://github.com/sodero/adtools/releases

are those "thread" fixes included within the gcc archive or where to get/put them?

If the thread fixes kas1e is referring to are those two from salass00 (see below) then they're included in alpha-3.

Are you focusing on gcc9 for now and add those fixes to gcc10 later aswell?
Or will those fixes automatically be in the gcc10 chain too?

The focus right now is to integrate everything in the main repos, adtools and clib2 (the latter is the bottleneck). It makes sense to start with gcc 9 since that patch set is smaller. If it takes too much time I'll publish a gcc 10 build as well. But it's slowly coming to a point where I'm having problems keeping track of branches and PR:s so integration is prio 1. If it doesn't work out with the integration I'll probably halt gcc and clib2 work for now, it simply gets too confusing for everyone.

No problem, just curious.

Hopefully you can keep up your motivation, these changes and fixes are dearly needed.

If compare no work or very slow work done by sba1 and obarther, then just after waiting a bit more and not have any reaction on poll request accepting, then just work on your own branch. It's not that ADTOOLS is 100% must, if no one works on it and didn't accept pull reqest in acceptable time frame.

While clib2 is for sure will be a problem, GCC work is need it, even for just newlib.

Another problem on exit. Crash happens inside OpenGL ES 2.0 Library but i am not sure if SDL2 is responsible:

I appreciate your encouraging words. I realize that what I wrote came across as frustration, but it really shouldn't be interpreted that way. I'm still motivated. It's just that there needs to be a bit of planning involved if you want to last a full marathon. If you start having pain after just 20km then you need to slow down, it's supposed to start at 35km, not before that

I found some "acidwarp" code on Github and noticed that it didn't delete the GL context on exit. However I cannot reproduce crash with testgles2 even if I remove the context deletion. Any chance you could ask Daniel about it?

Thank you! SDL_GL_DeleteContext(context); did the Trick

Both Versions "SDL1 - HWSURFACE" and "SDL2 - OpenGL ES 2.0" are working now and quit as expected:

Will test it more and then uploading it to OS4Depot. Ideal addition to the new Version of MilkyTracker. Retro Sound... retro Visuals

Sure, so ogles2.library shouldn't crash and delete valid contexts itself when unloading the library?

IMHO, no. It's that win32/Linux "automatic fix of bad exit" stuff happens in the background, but its applications should do proper exit: delete context, proper exit, etc. I almost always have these issues with 50% of ports. Developers on other platforms just give a shit about, as they didn't notice issues, as automatic garbage collector did the trick

I also saw this quite often. Especially missing call of SDL_Quit. Anyway i can live with both behaviours. Maybe it is not save when ogles2.library deletes autom. valid contexts because it could belong to another program which is still being executed??

It would be good if others could express their opinion (pros/cons) and than Daytona can decide.

I have no idea how ogles2.library context management is done. Sure we have an application bug here (context leak) but we don't know why exactly ogles2 crashed so it might be a good idea to at least ask Daytona about this.
