Do we have on amigaos and app to read/write ISO files ?

Currently trying to make on win32 my bootable ISO with components I need, and find out that not Magic ISO, not Power ISO can't handle properly amiga-bits, and so when I change the ISO os amigaos4 with my components, and even saving it as "iso 9660" + Rockridge + Joliet (and all sort of combination), scripts can't run as didn't' have necessary bits set.

The question is do we have any tool on amigaos4, which can mount the necessary ISO, and then I just copy to it anything I need and then save back?

Something of the quality of Fredrik's disk image (which IMHO can only mount and read, right ?)

It Will be nice to mount it like in Fredrik's disk image, and then through dopus4/5 or wb copy necessary files to.

Alternatively, maybe somebody can point out on win32 app which can do so, with saving all the amiga bits and stuff.

Thanks!

ps. AmiDVD works, but it's a bit strange of interface for today, and buggy.

Disk image as far as I can see just mount. But once I can try to write to it (via Dopus4 for example), it says "write protected". But yes, if DiskImage can handle this that can be exactly what needs it.

well that depends on the filesystem you use. CDROM filesystems are read only aren't they?

I used PowerISO on PC

https://www.poweriso.com/tutorials/edit-iso-file.htm

Created custom A1222/X5000 ISOs as a backup

I tried with PowerISO to make a change on the OS4.1 FE bootable amiga ISO: does not matter what I tried, it kills the executable bits on the scripts. Yes, some "pure files" iso can be done, and it can be changed to have originally bootable iso be bootable, but it still changes the filesystem bits.

So far only AmiDVD helps me to change an ISO, but AmiDVD buggy.

DiskImage device just what we need, just with the ability to "repack ISO on the fly" with the content we need. I.e. the same as MagicISO or PowerISO on PC: you open ISO, then drag&drop any files you need, and then choose "save", and it creates a new iso for you.

ultraiso is compatible with amigaos and allows editing.
There was a little guide on EAB

Many of them compatible, just didn't save filesystem bits as expected: for example for executable scripts.

I have not used ultraiso in depth, it only served me to modify the bootloader.
I can't recommend you any further but it was the most compatible.

Hi all

My memory is hazy but I'm pretty sure that makecd has read/write iso functionality. Although the image files that it creates have a .raw extension I think they're just iso images.

good luck!

DiskImage.device comes with a command line program called DiskImage.

It can be used to read the contents of e.g. a CD into an iso file, and - with the WRITE switch - write it back to a writable CD-R or similar.

I've used it a number of times, both with CDs and DVDs.

It's of course just a simple solution with no image building tools, but does what it does fine.

Best regards,

Niels

Didn't Frying Pan do that?

old MakeCD program if its not over 800/900 Mb's should be fine.

The one I have was released in 2007 public beta 12, so not as old as I expected

Or maybe BurnITV2 is worth taking a look into.
