CD Burning
Just popping in
Just popping in

Well i produced my first coaster on the Sam460ex :D

Wasnt expecting that complication. First i tried to revive good old MakeCD but it crashed constantly when i tried to select the Device. As soon as the window pops up the machine froze. Frying pan and AmiDVD didnt help much either when it comes to burning images. I Downloaded some Linux flavours and wanted to burn them but so far its a no go. Any help apreciated.

AmiDVD always worked fine for me for burning images - though I always used it on the X1000 (and earlier on the XE G4).

Can you describe more accurately in what way it didn't work and what you tried?

Best regards,

Niels

Was trying to burn a few iso images. Last weekend i went to my storage unit and started moving stuff around and found a external drive i used on a Mac. Had some isos on it from Discs i had before i moved to the US. Since i have that Burner in my Sam460ex i thought why not lets do it. They have a bin and a cue file but it doesnt seem to work unless its a real iso file.

Yeah, not sure if .bin/.cue format is supported. I always use .iso.

.bin/.cue do work with AmiDVD, just not the way as with pc burners.

I'm not near my setup, but iirc you need to burn the data file (.bin, I guess it was).

Alternatively you can mount a .bin first and burn the data directly.
I use diskimage device: http://os4depot.net/?function=showfil ... rage/diskimage_device.lha

Ah, okay. In that case I guess another option could be to mount it with diskimage.device, let AmiDVD create an .iso file from the mounted data (so you have that step saved in case burning goes wrong), and finally let AmiDVD burn the .iso file to the CDR.

Best regards,

Niels

When running classic software like "MakeCD", you should increases the stack on the icon, often more stack is needed, then normal.

I have Make CD V3.2.d Public Beta 12 jul 9 2007, this one works for me.

on AmigaONE-X1000 and AmigaONE-XE

Also make sure Audio Output in global settings are set to AHI.

IntuitionBase.com used to host a list of classic software that was compatible, version number, etc.

Currently we do not have public list of supported software, sandy.
