OS installation under E-UAE

Installed 2.04 to a disk partition in E-UAE, but E-UAE is not able to boot with it. Shouldn't it be able to?

Yes, it's supposed to boot from HDD, even without an installed OS.

However,Quote:
a disk partition
What do you mean by that ?

If this is a real HDD partition on a real Amiga HDD or a HDF in RDB mode, then it has to be flagged as bootable in HDToolbox. Only HDD directories or conventional HDFs boot automatically.

It's a real HDD on a real Amiga. Does it need to be flagged bootable in MediaToolbox within the emulation? I tried flagging it in MediaToolbox on the real Amiga, but it didn't make any difference.

How is it added to E-UAE ?

Yes. If you used HDToolbox to partition it, then you have to use HDToolbox to flag it bootable.

Do you run E-UAE on that Amiga ? What do you understand by a "real" Amiga ? AmigaOne is not a real Amiga in this context.

E-UAE only does support direct IO to cdroms, real partitions are off limit.

What it does support is FileSystem emulation, and Disk image emulation.

Yes. Select the "uaegfx" driver during install, then replace the rtg.library in LIBS:Picasso96 with the one from E-UAE.

IIRC you may have to type UAEscsi.device for it to work (exec device and library lists are case sensitive).

Should i edit the cd0 with an edit pad and add the device and unit in the file or it is ok to add them in the tooltype ?

I wasn't able to post it before as I wasn't at my A1 at the time.

You can place device and unit either in the tooltypes or in the file itself as above. Don't do both though as that will just lead to confusion.

Also I only have "scsi = true" in my E-UAE config. I have no idea what the "scsi_device=ATAPI" option does.

i make a progress..

Using the tool mounter in os 3.9 i discovered that the units are different from amiga os 4.0. I have the dvd rom and the cd-rw set as 0 and 1. I changed the cd0 icon in devs/dosdrivers but nothing the icon doesn't appear in the workbench..

If i try to mount the dvd or cd-rw from the mounter i get this error message : " Rigid Disk Block not found " but when it tried to read it from the cd i can see the blu light of the cd in the panel led flashing..

What could it be ?

Just for the record

Theres a CacheCDFS installer program within
OS39CD:OS39Version/CacheCDFS

I urge everone to use it, as it copies and configs
everythings without much hassle.

If you config'ed your EUAE right, it should work like a
charm. It sure did for me

uaescsi.device and BSDsocket.library were two items leftout of OS4 version. I'm pretty sure mentioned this a very long time ago.

Read the docs! CD-ROM works fine. I installed OS3.9 off the CD to build a nice AmiKit/OS4.
