Is it ACube who's performing the work or Soft3?

It's a comglomerate (sp?) of three teaming up to form ACube.
I dunno who does the work actually, maybe Soft3 under the
helm of ACube?

Whom can I email (I was under an impression that it was Soft3, didn't get any replies from them)

I used this online form, sent it out today, nothing so far,
but i think they maybe have a lot to catch up after the news?

Pardon the correction, but Max is asking people like Jack, on issues concerning the CPUs to contact him at the address shown in post #41.

Max, correct me if I am wrong about this.

Now you left me puzzled.

I was under the impression @Jack was looking for an eMail
to reach ACube (for questions about the module and such,
like myself).

Although i don't know where the online form i pointed him
leads to, i did think that it lead to ACube in some way.

Probably i'm on the wrong track here, so please apologize
any misleading.

I believe your address for general business of ACube is correct.
My comment was based on Max's response to Jack, which was clearly about the CPUs. It MAY be a dedicated address that Max wishes to use for non-general business.

Let's wait for clarification from the source, as it is I who could be wrong about this.

Your remark is correct. This is the address (post 41, got a verification in PM by Elwood).

ive been in contact with a company in the USA who will for $500 usd upgrade my powerbook to a 2ghz cpu
now i asked the question of them if it was possible to do this with my A1 module they said as long as its pin compatable yes for same money

the chip runs @1.64 v @ 2ghz so would be cooler than my current 1ghz A1 CPU
interesting indeed

http://www.xlr8.com/Apple_Mac_Product ... rade_PowerBook_AL_PS.html

now the question is will this be pin compatible with my XEG4 module

"What's the practical gain in refitting GL instead of GX? An extra 100MHz? Am I missing something?"

What ssolie was so delicately understating was that the GX is a buggy chip and well worth replacing with a GL.

The 750 G3/GL is what ack was using in his new cpu module, it's what the GX should have been.

Oh, the "fixes". What are the "consequences" of these bugs?
(just curious)

Yes, at the second attempt, it seems to work and is on its way back to me.
It looks like we may have enough demand to force prices down from the suppliers, judging by the traffic here. let's hope that is the case.

There are several documents available on GX "errata".
Strangely, mine were freely and readily available when I hunted them down.
Now (today), I notice a dead link on IBM's website, with the following message:

Quote:
Our Apologies

You have attempted to enter a controlled access area. IBM Microelectronics uses a entitlement process to protect potentially sensitive data.

That is, of course, management speak for "protecting info about our screwups."

Not surprisingly from a business who had Mai Logic for a partner.

It is well known, however, how much time the GX chip cost the project (OS4).

Maybe some developer would like to comment.
I would rather not.
