ResidualVM and Sam440ep
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

See User information
I've just tried the last version of residualvm available on os4depot.net. The gui has problem with mouse pointer. The pointer has somekind of lag. I don't know if the problem is due to the cpu but the problem is in the main emulator gui so there is no emulation running in the background at the time.. Is it a problem of cpu or is it a problem of some missing or unupdated library?

Do you have the latest SDL installed? https://github.com/AmigaPorts/SDL/releases/tag/v2.0.12-amigaos4

Does it happen while in window or in fullscreen mode or both?

Try in window mode, move around the mouse very fast (in circles) and see if cpu load goes up.

It's not happening here (X1000)

it happens both in window and fullscreen mode. I have the latest sdl library. Maybe is too much for the sam440ep.. is there someone who has a Sam440ep and can test it?

readelf -d tells that binary has no dynamic sections, so it doesn't matter which SDL version is installed because it couldn't make any difference.

On Sam440ep the mouse pointer seem sluggish. It could be some issue in ResidualVM renderer which is not so apparent on modern HW which developers are typically using. Choosing between normal and antialiased made no visible difference here.

Could you test ScummVM and see if the issue is there as well?

ResidualVM is eol and was merged into the ScummVM project, so if you got the same issue there, we (and i mean Capehill ) can probably figure something out.

First of all sorry for the big delay but as always my daily job consumed my entire free time...

ScummVM works fine here and without problems

Ok.
Residualvm was never as polished as scummvm when it comes to the amigaos port.

The next version of scummvm will (hopefully) support the 3D games from residualvm.

1) Grim Fandango is actually the only game fully supported as of today.
You can start and play Escape from Monkey Island and Myst 3, but expect bugs, glitches and even crashes.
I'm not sure about Riven, but I think that is still covered by the 2D part of scummvm, but not very complete either.

2) https://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html
You can download daily builds from here.
...
But
...
The amigaos4 version is not tested by me and the last time I did download it, it was unusable due to a crash bug.
But you can, of course, test to your hearts content.

Edit:
3) I hope that the merge will bring more releases with the new additions (as long as I'm not running out of memory during compilation)
