Bonjour,
just to inform that new versions of FastView, SysMon, FastCompress and NetDock are on OS4Depot. SysMon 3.3 * Added a new tab showing system Locks (new TOOLTYPE added : AUTOLOCK which will activate the auto refresh function at startup for this tab). SysMon on OS4Depot FastCompress 1.9 * Added new icon TOOLTYPE if you want *.info files to be created ICON=ON will create an *.info file after compression (default). ICON=OFF will not create any *.info file. Suggestion from DaveyW FastCompress on OS4Depot NetDock 50.7 * Increased width of the docky in order to display IP adresses larger than 13 characters and to display uptimes longer than 24 hours. Thanks to Daniel J 'DWolfman' Andrea for this bug report. NetDock on OS4Depot FastView 1.3 * Fixed a bug causing the picture to be displayed even when a mouse button click was done outside of the thumbnail * Added "RegisterGroup" in order to display standard picture informations, EXIF informations and some other options. Thanks to Javier de La Rivas for the suggestion * Added the possibilty to rename a file directly by editing the filename below the thumbnail. Hit "Enter" to validate the change. Thanks to 'Joan" Banis for the suggestion * You can now select multiple pictures in order to facilitate any remove/delete action. * Added the possibility to remove one entry or multiple entries from the list by pressing the Delete key. File will not be deleted (it will only be removed from the list). Thanks to Jesus 'YesCop" Fernandez for the suggestion. * A new tab Options has been added. You can now maximize the background (tick the checkbox) window to fit the whole screen thus Fastview will not close the Window when a new picture is loaded (no flickering). A new TOOLTYPE has been added (FIXED_BACK=ON or OFF). Thanks to Joel 'Joeled' Edberg for this suggestion * A new button has been added to set the picture to become your WB's wallpaper (option was only present in the contextual menu). * Added a new Slideshow tab * Here are the options for the slideshow : - Interval time in seconds - Full size display - Loop (off by default, if ON pictures will be displayed indefinitely) - Maximize background (new TOOLTYPE : FIXED_BACK_SLIDE=ON or OFF) * While picture are displayed : - ESC to stop slideshow (this won't close the picture, only stop the slideshow. A second hit on ESC or double click will close the picture). - Hit space to continue the slideshow if paused. - Hit Return or double click to stop the slideshow and close the displayed picture - Hit arrow down or arrow up to display previous or next picture without waiting Thanks to Jesus 'YesCop' Fernandez for the suggestion FastView on OS4Depot If you have suggestions or ideas (that I'm able to implement) for future versions, don't hesitate... |

I would like to have a possibility to start FastView
from command line with only one image and the size of the window in wich the program will show the image scaled if needed. With this possibility I can use FastView in the context menu of images so I can open several of them in separate windows to have the possibility to view one next to the other, it's useful when you have many similar pictures and you must choose which one to use for example to put in a web page, or which one to print. I hope I was clear in my request :) |

@sofistisoftware
For the progressbar, I don't know how to detect the progression of a running effect, therefore I can't do that. Sorry... @pvanni Yes, good idea, I have implemented that this evening. I have added a "PictureView" entry in my contextualMenu who calls FastView with 2 arguments, "SinglePicture" and the file name. If the file is a picture, it opens it in a screen scaled window (like the single click in FastView) If you press space bar, it swap between screen-scaled and real-size picture. If you double-click, press enter, escape or click on close gadget, it quit the program. I have too kept the "set wallpaper", "open drawer" and "delete picture" menu options. Of course, multiples instances of the program are allowed. It was something like that ? But I have a question, Phantom suggested me to use FastView like MultiView in the deficon. I don't know how to insert an argument in a .info file for a CLI program. What I would like to do is when I click on a JPG.info file, it calls "FastView SinglePicture file_name.jpg" It works only when I insert "SinglePicture" in the "Specify parameters" requester. Is somebody could help me, please ? Thank you |

many thanks for implamenting this feature, from your description it seems you've got my needs, only just one other thing, it's very useful the possibility to indicate the opening window size, this way you can for example set a quarter screen size, so you can open 4 instances without the need to resize them, this speed up the picture choices workflow very much. |

Yes, I could add a menu option to sepecify the size of the window.
Nevertheless, do you know how to do the following : I want to click on a JPG.info file, and that it calls "FastView SinglePicture file_name.jpg" |

Maybe you could make the default tool a script which would run FastView SinglePicture on its sole argument? Best regards, Niels |

maybe I was not clear, probabily because english it's not my language, what I mean it's something like that: FastView SinglePicture file_name.jpg WindowsWidth 600 WindowsHeight 400 not an entry in the menu |

@pvanni
it works by ContextualMenus or by deficons If selected by RMB or clicked, the picture is opened in screen scaled mode. After you can switch to -real size mode (with space bar or RMB menu) -specific size by RMB (a window is opened to specify the desired size) it works, if you want, i will send you it when finished in 1 or 2 days (if you send me you mail adress by PM or mail) |

Quote: But I have a question, Phantom suggested me to use FastView like MultiView in the deficon. Hmm, why is it running as a CLI program? What you need to do is run it as a Workbench program, then grab the filename(s) from the WBStartUp structure. If it's being launched as a CLI program from ContextMenus, then you already know whether FastView has been launched from there or via DefIcons or Extended Selection. So if it's WB launched (with filename(s) passed) you could go automatically into SinglePicture view. Things to consider: * If a drawer has been passed you'll need to open a "normal" session for that drawer. * If you support Extended Selection properly, you'll need to support opening multiple SinglePicture windows (note: this would be a step up from MultiView, which doesn't support extended selection beyond the first file) |

@Chris
Thanks for advices, I have to include it in contextual menu with an extra argument to make the distinction between "normal fastview" and "singlepicture fastview" And the only solution to.pass extra argument in contextual menu seems to be CLI. I use Wbstartup structure to take filenames for standard fastview. The complexi for me, is because i want all options to be included in the same executable. All these new stuffs work now, with installer, deficons replace (with backup the first time)... -for drawer, it's the standard fastview who handles it. -multi-file in singlepicture, except the possibility to start muli instance of singlepicture, i don't want (know how) to manage a lot of dinamically created windows in my program. |
