OS4 development kit

It would be extremely neat if Hyperion could release an AmigaOS4 development toolkit image for PearPC if the court case(s) go their way. (Not for free)

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

@Rogue/tfrieden

Would this be feasable and do you think this would be of interest to Hyperion?

[Edit: The package could include:
Preinstalled OS4 with the SDK
Cross compilers
Developer docs/examples as available
Something like the sdkbrowser from BitByBit
And perhaps a set of other usefull dev tools and libraries from OS4Depot]

It seems that you don't ask for a SDK but rather a full copy of OS4 and its SDK for a PPC emulator ...

If Hyperion was able to do that, it would be better to spend this time porting OS4 on various hardware (Sam440, Mac, LimePC, ...).

Especially given the fact that PearPC (with its PowerPC support in alpha state) has not been updated since a very long time...

I can't see where I suggested that it should be prioritized before or after any other projects. I only wanted the opinion from two select people on this subject.

Well, any legalities aside, and pointing out that I do not speak for Hyperion nor represent them:

I think that something like that would be useful, especially considering the fact that you could freeze an emulation at any moment and examine it from the outside. From a performance point of view it would most likely be a bit sluggish, but as a development tool I think it would be useful, and in fact, I toyed with the thought a while ago, but the effort would not be worth it at the moment considering that I have enough other things to do

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

Yes the question was asked with that in mind.

Qemu emulates the PowerPC processor, too, and it is still being updated unlike PearPC. Maybe it would be better to let an hypothetic AmigaOS4 SDK run on that.
