Buff...Tried these new settings and the same error appears:

Couldn't connect to SMTP.telefonica.net

That is the same error I get since I have YAM 2.5 on my system. What a pity.

The YAM: assign pointing to the YAM 2.4 dir on the HD could
be a innecesary issue too?

In other words, can YAM 2.4 doom YAM 2.5 having this old assign on my user-startup?

I really don't know what to think or explain here cause I am a bit dissapointed with the behaviour that gives me this
YAM latest version and it's a really heavy load.

Any ideas on how can I use the 2.5 version without problems?

This could be so long I suppose but I will stay tuned and with some help we can solve it,sure.

on the TCP/IP configuration page you may try different
combination of "secure connection" and "Method"
for example for gmail I have:

with "TLSv1" and "LOGIN"

erm, sorry for the rude answer but i've switched to YAM2.5 since years and i don't remember to have faced great problems switching from 2.4 to 2.5.

Can you repeat step by step what you did and where have you installed the new 2.5 version?

And try to comment out the YAM2.4 assign (i know what Thore have said but it worth a try)

First i did a backup of the whole 2.4 directory (to be safe) then i copied all the new 2.5 archive inside the 2.4 one (there are better way to do this but hey, anyway you have a backup)

Started YAM 2.5, thats promptly asked to convert ALL the mail files to the new 2.5 format

Then check if all the personal data are parsed correctly to the Preferences and the save.

ATM i don't remember any particular issue but (maybe, don't remember well) retype manually the user and password strings

Thore, could a wrong Locale/clock/year settings screws the authentication with the server?

Does YAM2.5 handle this differently than 2.4?

Backep up YAM 2.4,reinstall,security copy...bufff.It's so hard to me really.
I am using YAM 2.4 at the moment until I get this new version to work as it should.
But is there a problem between Timezone settings and the WB
one?
I am a bit confused, really.Hope someone can save me from this panic situation.

Everything which could influence authentication is on the same config page as server, port number, password, etc. Otherwise the different pages of the config window wouldn't make any sense.

The authentication mainly consists of user name, password and authentication protocoll. If any of these is wrong or unsupported there will be an error message.

@MamePPCA1:

Please run YAM from shell with the DEBUG option and try to receive and send some mails. Post the resulting log here, but make sure to strip any private data (user name, password, etc)!!!

I don't see any option to copy from the sell or paste to Ibrowse so:

(tons of indescifrable letters ex: dXNlcm5hbW

and below it says: 535 invalid user or password (?)

I have the feeling that is the same configuration that uses
my YAM 2.4 but why this message?

Thanks for the patience you have here.

Did you ever hear about "output redirection"?

Just use something like "YAM DEBUG >ram:logfile.txt"
