No Timeberwolf, we couldn't get it running on time.

I am sure there will be some news on this soon.

Resized Image

I would like to thank Dan and his friend (forget his name sorry) for making it all the way from Finland, as well as the WHDLoad Team for coming from Germany, Michael Battilana, Cloanto, from Italy and Allen (DDNI) for coming from Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the photograph, turn out wasn't spectacular, I currently can't see the point of hosting another UK show, if Amiga users in the UK can't be bothered to attend.

There's an old saying, use it or lose it. Looks like the UK Amiga community has lost it.
- Sorry but that's how I feel about it right now.

Yikes, did we even go to the same show???? While I was stuck at one table, and barely had time to look around, I thought we had a pretty decent turn-out - at one point there must have been at least 70 people, although unfortunately nobody actually counted how many we had in total.

With seemingly LOTS of good news around the corner (Firefox/Timberwolf, Gnash, OS4.1 update 1, eventually MAP, and probably new faster hardware), as well as existing software maturing quite well, I would have thought that interest & attendance should be higher at a show next year.

If 70 people (or thereabouts) turned up, I'd also say it was pretty good. You have to consider that it was less than two weeks before Christmas, in the middle of a flu pandemy, and - as ChrisH points out - a bit before a number of interesting projects are expected to have something to show.

So don't lose your spirit over this MikeyC, I'm sure those 70 had a great time and will bring lots of friends next time.

Wish I could have come myself, looking forward to reports and pictures.

Best regards,

Niels

Argh. How come? We've sent the same binary to two others that got it to run.

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

Cos, unfortunately, I was so busy doing most of the last minute organising stuff, getting this and that, etc, that i didn't have time to update the OS to the latest as per your recommendation.

I just simply run out of time.

Sorry.

You sure? It didn't feel that crowded in there, but okay, if you say so. In that case, Amiga North Thames will hold another show next year, and this time we are gonna move it to September.

So, for those of you who want more advanced notice. Subject to confirmation, the next Amiga Revival Fair will be held on Saturday, 11th of September 2010.

Now, I hope more of you will be able to attend.

Thanks.

Well done. Seriously, I know how hard it is to organise attendance to trade shows with a stand, it must be much harder to organise the whole thing.

Anyhow, I will be at the next one, and so will a couple of AW people. That is a /promise/

I wonder if we'd get more people if it was closer to St Pancras.
