Tunenet support for WMAs
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

See User information
This has probably been discussed to death and is not feasible considering I'm talking about a copyrighted Windows format, (I think) but is it possible or will it be possible to play WMAs through Tunenet at any point in the future?

We have quite a few WMA files here which would need converting to MP3 in order to play which, to be frank, is a pain in the @rse!

Your comments would be appreciated.

I think MPlayer can play them.

With the modular way that TuneNet can support different filetypes I'd say it would be more than feasable. Whether or not a driver will come about any time soon or not is another matter.

If someone could point me in the direction of a decent bit of code / decoder id be more than willing to give it a go.
I did find some wma decoder source before but had no luck with it.

That would be good and would save me a lot of time and would possibly warrant a further donation to the TuneNet package!
/me goes off to look for some code.

The more support for Tunenet the better. It's the only piece of music playing software I use on OS4...

A little update,
Found a stripped ffmpeg wma player.
Have managed to compile the lib but a certain function to open the file doesnt work.
Ummm.......
I will try to get to the bottom of this,
once I do a Tunenet plugin should be a breeze!!!
Not promising anything tho.

I also think, Tunenet is great. OTOH I still use sometimes the old Soundplayer (!!!) becouse it is the only one that can read damaged audio CDs !

A mplayer plugin for tunenet anyone?
(xmms on linux uses mpalyer for certain formats).
Mpayer can be used in a "slave" mode (using pipe for commands)
