I have installed Nightlong on my Classic system, everything was fine, i also installed the update released from Clickboom. The game runs and it is really fast on my machine. I have only two problems.. the first is about graphic, i think is a triple buffer problem but i don't know how to fix it..The graphic is like splitted into several vertical stripes (same old problem that appears also on Quake software render) when i choose the screenmode i have only one 640x480 16 bit resolution available on the rtg screen modes list.. Is there a way to add more screen modes to this list?
The second is about audio, i have no audio at all!.. i don't know why.. Edited by nubechecorre on 2011/12/2 14:59:32

Which version are you using ? The 68k one or the PowerPC one ?
On AmigaOS4 (AmigaOne), I can play the game using a 16 bits screen (without compositing or any effect) and using AHI (I had to install the petch version of RTGmaster by the way). On Classic, I remember I could play the game too (PowerPC version) but your sound trouble reminds me of an AHI problem. There is a tutorial on Amiga-NG (but it's in French, sorry : Link ) |

Thanks for posting the link after doing a google translation to English http://translate.google.co.uk/transla ... bih%3D1059%26prmd%3Dimvns It sounds like I should finally be able to get this game working on my sam44ep with out graphics corruption. |

Did it work for you? Because it didn't for me. I turned off Compositing but the gauss effect on graphics stays the same |

@Raziel
Yes turning off compositing and changing my workbench screen to a 16-bit one fixed the graphics corruption issue for me. But it did not fix the all WarpOS PPC applications I have tested crash after just a few minutes issue on the sam440ep mini-itx systems. So I can only been able to play the slower 68k version with 1/4 screen videos but that at least has been stable for the 15 - 20 minutes I have had to play and test the game so far. |

Yes, I was going to mention that on Sam440, there are random crashes.
I even get some with my AmigaOne now. Of course, 68k version works like a charm (too bad cut scenes are reduced). |

@Dwyloc
So, it seems i need to look for a screen promoter to make the game run |

@Raziel
not only the compositing, you need also to set the wb screen mode to 16 bit otherwise you still have the gauss effect :) |

Raziel : no you don't have to.
You just need to have you WB in 16bits and to turn compositing off, that's all. |

The next question is how do you treak the CD-ROM settings for better performance as it would seem playing back the videos from CD and loading data is slower on my sam440ep even with DMA switched on than it was on my A1200 Tower even with 2500 buffers for cd0: ?
Or do I just need to try turning the CD's into images and running that way as at lest that will reduce the seeking time when accessing the video's from disk. |

Bah, that was solved a long time ago ![]() Copy everything to your HD and make a start script i.e. Quote: assign Q: "" "protect rweds", give it a nice icon and off you go Edited by Raziel on 2011/12/3 19:40:08

Yes, but i don't want to set my WB permanently to 16bit and turn off composite just to play the game too bad i cannot add a screens screen and play it through that :-/ Edited by Raziel on 2011/12/3 19:40:47

Raziel : as for Flare, when I want to play Nightlong, I change my settings and reboot the AmigaOne.
When I'm finished playing, I reverse all my changes and reboot. The price to pay in order to play such an excellent great game under AmigaOS 4.1 ![]() |

Yes, i see, there seem to be no other way around that btw, do you have graphic corruption/wrong color in the save game thumbnails aswell, or is it just me? |

for better performance just create an iso with amidvd and then mount it with diskimagedevice a double click on iso icon "et voilà les jeux son fait". In this way you don't need to make assign ;)

I tried to get this game to work but i guess i m doing something wrong. I m using the instructions from the google translation above.
1. I install the game from a nightlong.iso to a drawer on my harddisk. 2. I downloaded warposemu and installed it. Powerpc.library is under sys:libs 3. I download and try to instal rtgmaster wos. When i choose to remove old version i get a error but can continue if i chose ignore dsi. I get the info that i havent got any rtgmaster.library installed. I choose to install with subdirectories. I get a drawer under sys:libs called rtg with rtgami.library and rtgp96.library. 4. I then reboot and download the patch by Steffen RTGMaster Haeuser. I copy two newer files from it rtgami.library and rtgp96.library to sys:libs/rtg 5. I download the PPC version from amigafuture but if they dont work why do i need them? I extract all files into drawer nightlong on my harddisk. I then reboot again. Try to start he game with Nightlong1.2 and get the error "Have you installed the rtg libraries in Libs:rtg? Yes i have. If i try the nightlongppcsmall or big i just get another error "cant find powerpc.library" but its in sys:libs What am i doing wrong? Appreciate any help! |

Okay, i will install it again and then install the rtg master from aminet and then the os4fix patch. The files extracted from the os4fix do i put them all under sys:libs/rtg There are four files. |
