Isn't possible to use hardware accelleration on the same version only when it's needed ?
No, the hardware accelerated Cairo included in AmigaOS 4.1 is a shared object (SOBJS:libcairo.so), if I build OWB using shared objects instead of static link libraries it can't work on AmigaOS 4.0 any more.

Maybe 2 versions: static (for support old) and dinamic (with cairo enabled) ?

I saw your reply about CJK scripts to Elwood belatedly today, but don't quite understand.

I went to http://www.mojikyo.org/ for an experiment and except for the hand-drawn characters, everything is "?" in little diamonds.

I just happened to have an older icudata.owb (8913240 bytes), so I replaced the new one, rebooted OS4.1, and mojikyo.org still comes out "?????"

The coding seems in fact to be UTF8; wasn't that supposed to work with either version of icudata.owb?

I've been using AmiCygnix (Sylpheed, NetSurf) when necessary to read CJK, but it would be great to be able to do some from OWB on Workbench proper!

- Put this "UNICODEFONT=Bitstream Cyberbit" (without the ") in OWB's tooltypes
- Go there and grab CYBERBIT.ZIP, Cyberbase.ZIP and CyberCJK.ZIP
- Install them in fonts
- Restart OWB
- Reload the site and beautiful yet (to me) unknown characters will brighten your webpage

- using System/TypeManager of course.

BTW, it's probably not necessary to install all three. CyberCJK contains only CJK characters, and CyberBase only non-CJK, while CyberBit is the combination of the two, AFAIU.

Best regards,

Niels

Well, sure enough!

Previously I had

UNICODEFONT="fonts:Kochi Gothic.font"

in OWB Tooltypes, but obviously it didn't work. I wonder if I should have just had

UNICODEFONT="Kochi Gothic"?

Thanks for two very valuable hints. Fonts: is pretty crowded without duplicating (I already have another CJ font file and one CJK font file in there).

And I bet I wouldn't have thought to use TypeManager. I'm pretty dumb for someone who's been computing since 1968...
