Seeing .info files along with their associated file (SOLVED)
Quite a regular

Here are my steps:

.Open OS4Depot
.Download the wookiechat.lha
.Extract the LHA to the RAM disk

Notice that "WookieChat2.11_OS4_Installer" (default directory icon displays as if it has no .INFO file) and "WookieChat2.11_OS4_Installer.info" exist; this requires Show All.

Am I missing some data types or something?

@walkero

Thanks. Problem is solved.

Is that file part of some large installation, or is it something you generally need to get standalone?

It was always a separate file and was never included in the OS.

And the capability to display PNG icons (rather than the standard icon format) was never part of the OS, it always required a third party add-on.

In spite of this, some authors have assumed that everybody had that add-on installed and provided their software with only PNG icons, not even a choice in the installation.

(No need to ask me whether I think that was a good idea ...).

Best regards,

Niels
