Hi All

The current version I have of Simplemail (0.40) crashes on quitting, has anyone else experienced this?

Try turning off the "Cleanup Deleted Folder on Exit" option.
It's in the "General" panel of the configuration.

I've had the crash problem on exit since v.36 until I discovered recently that turning off this option avoided the crash. I delete the fold manually now before exiting.

Thanks, that's fixed it. It worked okay before so don't know what broke it, maybe MUI update!

Do you have stacktraces ? Probably it can be the same mui bug in mui4r3 which cause saving of configs in odyssey crash. That was fixed in the betas of mui4, so probably you can try new mui4 nightlies from muidev.de , maybe it will deal with.

I had the same problem with SimpleMail. Solution: Uncheck the mark at "empty trash when quitting". (DeleteDeleted=N)(I Don't know what it says exactly in english, as my OS is in German.)

I hope this bug will be gone in the next version. But at least Simple Mail works in opposite to YAM with my Provider (1&1).

If no one will report it on simplemail's bugtracker on sourceforge, bug will stay for sure.

To avoid this kind of crash, be sure that you can see the number of file in the "Deleted" folder before exiting the program.

If you don't see how many messages are in the "Deleted" folder, SimpleMail will crash. To avoid this, click on the "Deleted" folder to force SimpleMail to recreate its database.

This kind of behaviour only occurs when you have shut down your system (or crashed) without closing SimpleMail.

I've encountered this issue for a very long time now and am used to it.

Thanks for bringing this up as I noticed it happened I think one time for me after trying out DOPus 5 but honestly I usually always keep Simplemail running in the background when ever my miggy is on so would have never noticed the bug
