Machine stuck at bootpic? Set the date!
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hi all,

I just wanted to tell that if your OS4 machine stops at the bootpic, you may check the date in Uboot.
Halt at the Uboot prompt and set the correct date and time using:

date MMDDhhmmYYYY

When the date is completely wrong, OS4 doesn't boot because of a known bug of one OS4 component.

Which component?
And has it been addressed since?

I don't know yet. A bug report is filled so it needs to be fixed.

thanks for the informations. BTW, the SAM here have a wrong date on the Uboot and boot fine.

the date here on the sam isn't exactly the real date. Surely the problem came with completely wrong date.

I think @Elwood meant that if the date in UBoot isn?t set at all it might cause trouble on bootup, or so i understood it

I had the exact same problem but fixed it by typing the correct date at uboot prompt.

I used "date 010100001970" in Uboot. This set it to 2070.
Like this the boot is stopped.

Interesting, something along the lines of the unix 2038 time problem i suppose? what happens when you set this date in os4? i think os3 can go on until 2042 or so but i dont think we'd see it stop doing time critical operations,, just reset to 1900 or so
