@walkeroQuote: walkero wrote:@n3m3 No updates as much as I know, but I have just released a new version of Kyvos, with plenty of improvements.
You can read more about this new version at https://ko-fi.com/post/Kyvos-v1-8-0-released-C0C01P93IV And here is a list of the changes
## 1.8.0 [2025-11-27] ### Added - Added a check for error when VM files are deleted. If that fails an information requester appears - Added the Debug level field under the Hardware tab, which is related to the Serial output - Added a new tab and a text field to add custom Qemu arguments in the arguments window. - Added a check if a VM is running when Kyvos starts, and change its icon in the list - Added the "Check for updates..." and "Roadmap" options under the "Help" menu
### Fixed - Fixed an issue with mounting the third hard disk, which conflicted with the CD - Fixed the reset of the custom paths when the setup run
The new version can be downloaded at https://ko-fi.com/s/6476fdadd2 Thanks, just grabbed it.

Okay now that RunInUAE is installed.
I'm looking to use Term4.8 with Tesler.
I keep getting Tesler is busy. Is there more things I need to do in order for it to work in the emulation? Perhaps I need to install or setup networking?

Super!
Well Done!
Have fun.
If you ever get joystick or some controller to work, teach me how you got it to work.
I don't have that working yet. hahaha
Have fun!
TJ Absolutely! Keep up with your great videos. Really enjoy them and look forward to them!

@AmigaSociety
You rock buddy! :)
I ended pulling the binary "dir" from the install cd and installing the cd version of RunInUAE, got that working, then I installed the update, which worked.
I then replaced my backed up "dir" binary.
I'm in business!
Thanks again!!!

Just the 1.
Rename the current DIR that is in your C directory and then copy in the older DIR and leave that name as is.
Reboot and hope install of RunInUAE works.
It did for me.
You are renaming the current one you been using as you may want to go back to that one if you have more or other issues.
For now I am still using my older 53.x but need to look into if I can find a newer one that seems to still be Ok.
TJ So you are saying to rename the "C" drawer to "C_Backup" and put the old one back in place?

Not in front of my Amiga right now as I am trying to get moving to get some chores done (large dump run today fighting the rain beating down on me haha) but on your SYS partition you need to locate and open the C directory and look for that DIR you have in there, maybe rename it so you know to switch back if something goes more haywire, and copy into your C the older one you may have on your Amiga OS emergency/installer disk.
I think some people had newer Enhancer versions than I did and those may have worked but I did not so used an older one and then RunInUAE installed.
I think the one I grabbed from my old Amiga OS CD was dating back to 2012 or something. 53.3 or something going off some notes I had.
I think my old thread showed I had some enhancer 54.x version and may have been my issue. Unsure if your issue but that is what worked for me.
Hope that helps.
TJ Which files am I replacing though?

I had this isse about 1 year ago. My DIR was a newer enhancer one and it appears to have had a hiccup.
Per a friends request, he recommended I try "Replace the Enhancer dir command in c directory with the original OS version. You could rename the Enhancer version to keep it available if you need to for some reason."
I grabbed the older DIR from my Amiga OS installer and then was able to install RunInUAE.
Can't get the joystick to work but can play keyboard based games so far.
Good luck to you!
TJ Do you have directions? Not sure what you mean, which directory is it, and from the installer which directory to I replace it with etc?

@smarkusgQuote: smarkusg wrote:@n3m3 If you have installed Enhancer Software, you must update it via AmiUpdate. Enhancer Software replaces the main system files. They have already been corrected but require updating. The second option is to restore the original files supplied with the system.
The latest version of RunInUAE can be found here: https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=110393 It also does not install the CD supplied with the system. It has a restriction regarding wdloader. Still new and learning. AmiUpdate will know I have Enhancer installed?

@balatonQuote: balaton wrote:@n3m3 I have never tried 3D but AFAIK Wazp3D is a software renderer compatible to Warp3D so you can use that already with sm501 and it should work for simpler 3D games (it's slower being software and running in the emulated guest). Some people tested Wazp3D in the past and should work. The virtio-gpu driver would give hardware accelerated 3D using the host's GPU so that should work better for games that need that. Or if your host is Linux and can use vfio-pci passthrough you can already get hardware accelerated 3D by passing through a card that AmigaOS supports (certain Radeon models) which also works today as tested by others. So the virtio-gpu would add ability to use the hosts GPU for 3D without needing a separate card for the guest (even if that GPU has no AmigaOS driver such as NVidia) but that's not ready yet as said above or better 2D than possible with sm501 (more colors and maybe some 2D accel but sm501 also has some of that) which is ready but unreleased so nobody can use it yet other than beta testers who got it. Therefore you're maybe not missing much yet until the 3D part is ready. Looks like the following are installed in my library drawer already. Warp3DNove.library Wazp3d.library With these in the lib directory, can I assume 3d software is being used?

@LiveForItQuote: LiveForIt wrote:@n3m3
2D composition is used by Wazp3D, so you get little bit faster 3D with this, then pure software only 3D graphics. As of today? So if I get this, things will run a bit better?

Hans @Hans Okay so both will be needed in order to play 3d games and run 3d apps within QEMU then? Are both expected by Christmas 2025?

Just did some more testing and I can play Heretic and Duke Nukem?
So maybe I'm getting the expected behavior through QEMU?
I don't have original experience with Amiga, and don't know what to expect vs what it can and can't do.
