@Elwood EVEN if they don't produce mobos by themselves (which is possible...), when you sign contract with some one who is producing them, they are also responsible for delivery in particular time. they should specify how many, when etc. mobos will be done, and in what time. It's not a black magic to specify this thinks. I'm leaving on this world enough long, to know that if some one is not doing this what suppose to do, and not keeping a dates like in contract is going out of business later or sooner. Quote: This is so strange to see many people on Amiga websites that are just whining because they want boards that go faster, that can be produced in one day and still that are not much expensive than a standard PC.
Incredible
So you newer read my post. I don't care how slow is Sam440ep (but I know how slow in comparison to PC), I do care how much faster is than my Amiga040/40Mhz with 64MB ram, this is my comparison. I didn't expect this mobo to be produced in one day. If I'm not forgetting Sam440ep was announced like YEAR ago :).

@Antique
Consider please:
- speed of graphic card development? - speed of the Amiga games/programs development which require shaders? - tomorrow there will be new graphic card slot etc. but don't forget the newest "AmigaOS ready" hardware have... PCI from 1993. - speed of development of ANY thing for AmigaOS?
Tell me what I can do with drivers for AmigaOS4.x which support shaders?

@ikir
Sure, but I can't believe that ANY company can exist longer that couple of years WITHOUT PLAN!
Every company have to know exactly what, when, who much is needed to produce even toothbrush or plastic box.
So, if someone is telling "we are serious company"... you should know EXACTLY, at least how many mobos can you produce per day?
1 maybe 2? After 5 months 30x5x2=300 mobos.
BUT why not to ship for like 50 mobos? etc.
Than people create bounty for software... there is write $$$$ for particular project... and what? NOTHING. Date was moved, changed, replaced, modified etc.
We can give to some one $1.000.000 and if the person is not responsible NOTHING will ever change.
Money NEVER change anything :). People create ideas and live accordingly to them (or not!).
EDIT: I don't see on Amiga forum even 100 new users (where are this people screaming how good Sam440ep and AmigaOS4.1 is)? People get exited, you have your hardware
Are they not active?
EDIT: I'm not telling they will not deliver. I don't care. I will buy Sam when it will be on market. Than someone can tell "we ship Sam440". I know it's a "hobby" - no complains!

@TiredOfLife Why people do that? Set the time of delivery and that... move it again! and again! and again! and again! and again! People get the WOMAN! Get live! Have you ever ask women for a dinner? And than... you chance the date of the dinner? Again! Again! Again! Again! What for reaction from her side! PS. If you don't have this what you say, don't say that. Don't write post: Quote: New batch of Sam boards shipping
ACube Systems announces the imminent availability of a new batch of Sam440ep boards. After the highly successful market reaction for the Sam440ep boards, the product will be available again in a few days from our resellers. Did they ship them? NO. Imminent availability? NO. Few days? 11 and we don't see them. You lose credibility in eyes of people. I don't care about "We are strong company!". Show me you are. "The wait is over" - I didn't noticed.

I think this is the place where we should concentrate our ideas. ONE place, not every where...
JIT for EUAE for AmigaOS could be nice...

Definition from Wiki much easier to get than hammer and nail ;), but I appreciate the explanation of that to!
Now I know what does it mean JIT :D. I didn't even realize that this is official name!
Thank you again, and I think we need the bounty...

I see I will have some fun with my AmigaOS4.1 and Sam.
Have fun with Sam... heh ;)
I'm curious how the AmigaOS4.x differ with AmigaOS3.9 :). Not only the speed! (this I could check on PC under UAE...).

Or think about something like "petunia" as a "hidden" EUAE... you just click on DMF/ADF files or some whdload digested ;) game and software is doing everything. My responsibility would be only install a ROM's for different Amiga's.
Something like highly advanced petunia... with the emulation of custom Amiga chips.
This would be AMAZING (better like using MacOS9 under OSX), way nicer and cleaner solution :).
I know I'm dreaming....
:D

At the beginning I just would like to say I have no ANY idea what is JIT for EUAE :), but I know that this will greatly increase a speed of emulation... or something like that. It's about the speed.
Yes, I know that I don't know.
But I know ONE think :). Sam's are coming and I'm pretty sure I will have one next 10 days in my apartment (thx to Amigakit/ACube!) running AmigaOS4.1 (thx to Hyperion!)... and since I don't like using UAE on my PC (I really don't know why? ;) ) I'm planning to use it on my Sam440ep.
This what I know about EUAE today for AmigaOS is really SLOW (something around 020?), for games it's nice... but for something different... my 040/40Mhz is to slow :D.
So... Who is mighty ;) to do this? This would be really nice software for Sam440ep... especially today where we have Amikit, AmigaSYS and some software is really good under AmigaOS3.x. Fast and beautiful :).
Is is about money? Lack of time? Hobby excuse? or...
BTW. My some is pre-ordered :). Amigakit.com thank you for your time!

Today I just got that... you work alone on that project! Congratulations! In so short time you made something really amazing (looking for movies and pictures, since I could try it yet...).
Personally I was always against situation when we do not have any "fully" functional web browser (or any program) but we have/had Aweb, Ibrowse, Voyager, now OWB, NetSurf and people start thinking about Firefox...
Personally I think all this people would work together on one project we would have really amazing web browser... and yes, nothing for free :).
Just my opinion.

I heard that they produce it... they sold everything, that this mobo is just in next corner, that "tomorrow" the AmigaOS "will be shipped". Sounds like nothing changed ;).
WHERE this stuff IS NOW?!
I'm kind of joking here, but actually... :D

Understood. However, I've had several DVDs (can't remember what titles, sorry) that have the main movie hidden so that it's impossible to find by just browsing through the different streams on the DVD. They have hidden it somehow.
Hans
I'm not YET Sam440 user (Where are this mobos??), but one of the first programs on my AmigaOS4.x check list is a DVPlayer :). I hope there is a lot of "us" waiting! So... Personally I don't care about menus BUT I like StarTrek :)... and there you basically can't watch the episodes without menu :(. I understand you have "your own" priorities. If the Sam440 will be released and AmigaOS hardware will be created... We really need good DVD (video on general) software. Your price is great. Considering prices of DVD players for PC, you are "cheap" ;). Thank you for your presence on this forum, it pleasure to talk to the authors of software "in person" (not like in PC world). Good luck with your work!

We need to collect like 1000 amigausers with signatures and "force" them ;).
Maybe 10000 :D
EDIT: Thanks for developing this drivers, but please do not forget about taking ALL the potential of existing hardware.
Radeon 7000 or9000 series is really great piece of hardware. Amiga could benefit from well made driver with full support from that site.
I'm not saying that "new" hardware is not needed but... :D.
I'm talking from the site of the common user.

Maybe this sound little bit... insane at this stage... but what about a hardware acceleration of "HD - video stuff".
From my knowledge ATI has great hardware support for Blue-Ray movies, and usage of the CPU is going down to 1-3% when you play Blue-Ray/DVD movies... I can be mistaken so don't kick me to much ;)
