@afxgroup

Second that. I have one just like it at work, some advertisement material from one of our parts suppliers.

The Ringhio server was not started upon startup by default on my installation. I had to manually go to WBStartup prefs and add it to the list. Is it supposed to be like that or did something go wrong at some point in the installation?

Anyway, I noticed another thing. I tried selecting several files in a directory and dragging them over to another window. Workbench then copied the whole folder the files were in, in stead of the files i selected.

OS4.1(.1) and WiFi
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi,

I bought a PCI WiFi card from AmigaKit which I have installed in my SAM-flex. The card uses the prism2.device driver. Now, the card itself works fine (too bad there's no WPA encryption support in the driver), but I noticed that when the net interface is running (as long as the machine is switched on, really ) if i try to do a soft reset, the USB will freeze and I have to do a hard reset to get it back up. I had the problem on OS4.1, but I thought it would go away on update 1. It didn't so now I am posting here.

Also, there is a "wifi manager" that is supposed to go in WbStartup folder and will bring up a status icon on AmiDock, with the current signal strength. I can launch this from workbench now and it will appear in AmiDock, but if I set in the WbStartup prefs that it should be launched at startup, it gets started, but it does not appear on AmiDock (which kind of renders it useless). This worked before Update 1, when the WbStartup folder still existed.

Has anyone else had these issues? And are they solvable (esp. the soft reset issue)?

1) Are you using MilkyTracker version 0.90.80_01 on OS4depot?

I think so. It says 0.90.80 in the readme file, at least. I downloaded it from os4depot not too long ago.
Quote:
2) Do you have Composting enabled in your Workbench Prefs ->GUI->options?

Yes I have that turned on. I'll try switching it off to see what effect it will have.

3) How much system RAM do you have, 512 MB, or 1 GB?

I have 1 GB of RAM.
Quote:
4) Are you using onboard sound, or a sound card?

I am using the onboard sound card.

5) What AHI mode are you using.

CS4281: HiFi 16 bit stereo++

Doesn't AHI support higher D/A resolutions than 16-bit?

@logicalheart

Hi,

I tried to reduce the resolution of MT, in 640x480 it plays OK, even when I do other stuff, though not perfect. I don't think I would be able to watch a DVD at the same time. I have a Radeon 9250 card with 128 MB of memory.

@logicalheart

Wow, this is so much faster then on my SAM 440 flex 800MHz. If I even move the mouse while playing a module in MilkyTracker, it starts skipping badly, and the mouse pointer gets jerky too. OWB is also much faster.

Some of the samples freeze my machine when playing them with MutiView only. Some do not, but then when I subsequently click the SabreMSN icon, the machine freeze.

@jahc

I downloaded some datatype off os4depot a while ago, can't remember which. Just downloaded and installed wave_dt.lha now, though and:
1. I was able to open nudge.wav with MultiView, but I hear no sound
2. When opening for example type.wav, my machine freezes
3. If i try to play the iff samples, it pretty much behaves the same way as with the wave ones

When I open nudge.wav in MultiView and then click the SabreMSN icon, my system freeze.

@jahc

Hi,

Great app you have here! I am getting a crash, though. When I open TuneNet, and play some audio, I can't start SabreMSN, it crashes when I click the icon. If i start SabreMSN first, and then TuneNet and try to play something, I only get a AHI requester asking me to choose an audio interface, but when I select one, it won't play.

My system is a Sam440 flex 800Mhz, running OS4.1.

I am having the same problem. I have to change to British keyboard layout to write {}[] and back to Norwegian to be able to write #

Edit: I'm using this version.

Picasso96Mode/Screenmode on OS4.1
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi,

I just recieved my 800MHz SAM440 flex system, and I am quite thrilled to explore the new features of the OS. I am however a bit stuck on getting my screenmodes sorted out. I have a 24" BenQ G24 HD monitor, and a Radeon 9250 card installed. I was hoping to achieve a 1920x1080 resoulution, but it I cannot get the right settings (the picture is not usable by a long shot). I have temporarily ended on a 1080x720 resolution, but it looks a bit funny (like not sharp, and pixels seem a bit "big") and want to get 1920x1080 working. Does anyone have some tips or does there exist some kind of guide on this?

Many thanks,
Eirik

Fantastic news! :) Your efforts are most appreciated!

Too bad I only have a Classic :(

Re: OS4 Classic SDK

I just thought there might be some differences regarding memory features, AltiVec and such, but it seems perfectly logical to have just one SDK for both. I just thought I had heard talks about a SDK for OS4 Classic. Anyway, downloaded it now! :)
