Hollywood and Hollywood Designer is a must-have :) It is the main reason for using my amiga these days, and probably the most impressive piece of commercial software still being developed!

@orgin

You have done a very good job with Filer! Congratulations with the new release!

btw - I'm always struggeling when I try to set up user-buttons that acutally work.. would it be possible to get access to your user-button settings ? then I can take a look on how you have manage to set up all the different kind of buttons (and adjust them to fit my own needs).

Hi there! To join the mailinglist you should send an email to Andreas. In the mailinglist you will be able to ask questions about coding and discussing new features and stuff.

The best thing about the mailinglist is that Andreas himself answers questions whenever asked - it is a really amazing customer-support!

@Seblam

Yes, I work only using Designer :) I don't really know anything about coding myself (i used to be a demoscene graphician).

However, using Designer it is very easy to make nice products by using the options available.

I'm looking forward to hear more about your project - are you on the Hollywood mailinglist ?

@Seblam

Hello! :)

It seems as if we are working on similar projects using Hollywood. However, I'm using a newer version of Hollywood and Designer to make my project. Have you tried Designer? - it is very advanced and you are able to make buttons and navigation very easy!

here is a direct link to a small demo of my program :

Also, more screenshots of our two commercial products on the following site :

@bean

Thank you very much for the new version!! However I have got a question

When I play a mp3.file (on a SAM + OS 4 / 4.1 and try to start OWB or use a program that uses some harddisk-loading or hardware-power i usually get a problem with the sound...

It starts to play the mp3-file more slowly, so that I get a more choppy sound-playback.. I can only get back the normal playback if I stop and restart the mp3-file or fast-forward the file... is there anyway to solve this ? I can't remember I had this problem with AMP or similar, but it happens with tunenet (both this and older versions..)

is there anyway to solve this ?

@orgin

Thank you for implenting the reverse source/destination-option!

I have got a couple of questions :

In Dopus magellan 5 there was an option to see all drawers one had accessed lately.. i believe it was done by clicking with the right button on the "root view"-icon. Will something similar be added in Filer ? It is a very nice feature.

Also, would it be possible to let the right scrollbar always start in the top positition whenever you access a new drawer ?

At the moment it sometimes start in the middle. Here is an example.

1) you have lots of drawers and files and have to scroll downwards in order to access the wanted drawer.

2) double-click on the drawer you want to access

3) if the new drawer contains lots of files the scrollbar will start in the middle - so i have to scroll upwards again in order to see the top drwawers/files.

(4) if the new drawer contains only a few files the scrollbare is in its correct position).

you could easily to the test by open your os4.1 partition.. scroll downwards and doubleclick on the prefs-drawer.. then you will see that the scrollbar in not at its top position.

@Astral

I loved Scala myself back in 95-98. I prefer Hollywood Designer compared to Scala Infochanel. Hollywood Designer is VERY powerful and easy to use. Once you start learning some keyboard-shortcuts and the way to work you are able to make nice presentations or similar in matter of minuttes.

It is also great to be able make executables to both amigaOS, windows and macOS.

Using Hollywood Designer it is also possible to make programs, menus, guis and alot more.

Take a look at our homepage www.ferrule-media.no to see some screentshots of commercial software we make using Hollywood Designer.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have got any questions :)

This project is very nice! Great to see it reach beta-stage! :) Congratulations!

btw - would it be possible to add an option to let the user change the text "set destination" and "set source" - Myself I prefer to simply have "Source" on the lister that is the source, and "destination" on the lister that is the destination.

Re: Hollywood Designer - a few examples from this powerful tool!

@nbache

It is a Samsung flatscreen, and we are using the resolution 1366*768.

We enter the correct hertz-settings in the devs:montiors/radeon.info. Then we connect it to the SAM using a vga-cable directly to the motherboard.

I have had similar problems getting dvi to work on high resolutions. As an example our 24inch monitors are only able to show 1650*1050 using DVI. (Samsung and HP). Using the vga-cable we are able to use them at 1920*1200 without problems.

But remember to use a vga-cable directly to the motherboard - the picture quality is much better like that compared to if you use a dvi-vga converter.

@Elwood

Hi there!

No, everything was made using Designer - simply by point and click. In Designer the presentations are also very easy to maintain, update or even translate to another language.

Dental Kanal is built up by seperate modules for each topic - and with designer it is possible to import these modules in order to make one large presentation. Everything is then looped. In my own office we have a SAMEP440 connected to a 32" screen that runs a two hour long loop for atleast 8 hours a day. (and it has never chrashed once!)

We do however got one option that requiers some extra code - namely password-protection. The user will not be able to quit the presentation without writing a selected password.

PEB was very nice to help with the lines of code needed to make this :)

Hello :)

To better show of Designers excellent userinterface I have decided to upload a few screenshots of the program. I find the GUI clean and very easy to both use and understand.

I was able to master the program after just playing with it for a short period of time. It shows that the author Andreas Falkenhahn has used a large amount of time to develop an userinterface that is both functional and fun to work with!

No, i did not make my homepage using Designer - I just used our homepage-graphics to make a copy of it. Everything is built up by brushes :) Very easy to make and actually rather functional :)

Hollywood Designer - a few examples from this powerful tool!

Hello

Hollywood/Hollywood Designer is one of the most impressive software-packages available to OS4. The author Andreas Falkenhahn has even made the effort of supporting both amigaOS and morphOS. I know that Andreas hasn't released any demos of the software so i guess many users wonders how powerful his software really is ?

Myself I use Hollywood Designer to develop commercial software. I don't have any knowledge about coding but i'm still able to make some nice software using his programs. Designer makes me develop software simply by point and click, using a very nice and clean graphical userinterface (mui).

I have added a few examples of what is possible to make in Hollywood Designer. It is small bits and pieces of Ferrule Medias software Dental Info. In addition I have added a media-presentation from our software Dental Kanal (Dental Channel). This will show how Designers ability to make high quality media-presentations!

I can recomend Hollywood/Hollywood Designer to anyone! If you have got any questions i would be happy to answer!

Example 1
An example of one of the menus in Dental Info. This only shows the menu, and it is not possible to click on the links.

Example 2 :
An example of a "homepage" created in Designer

Example 3 :
A multimedia-presentation taken from Dental Kanal. (needs the minimun resolution of 1366*768)

I would advice you to not cancel your sam-order! We have got three SAMS and they are very good computers... they are silent, small and actually feels very fast! (667mhz)

We have got an amigaONE aswell, but I must admit that I seldom power it up - it is much to noisy, and the overall feeling is better when using the SAM.

Is it possible to add an art-section it the gallery, where amigans can put drawn images/gfx made using amigas ?

I would love to see more gfx from other amigagraphicians :)
