Bump to Canadian Linux users here on recommending a mirror /server as the UK one is giving me issues near the end of the install

I'm in Australia and did not have an issue with the using the default server.

However I notice that I am running at 500Mhz. Can this be changed?

Ok I'll answer my own question

CFE>set pmu -astate=A4

obviously I've added it to my menu commands :)

Great work and great instructions. I now have a working X1000 Linux install. I have a spare CF card somewhere so may put the boot file on that when I get some more time. I went a bit crazy on the packages so it took all day but it is working well. Thanks again for a fantastic effort.

Biggest understatement I've seen all week! Absolutely stunning. Hope we see more of this.

The name of the SObj is different to what it has been linked as.

Simple rename libssl.so as libssl.so.1.0.0 (which is what it is supposed to be called) and it will work.

If you don't have libssl.so, download the libssl 1.0 archive on OS4Depot, as this is what it is looking for.

Thanks for that I'm sure that's all I need.

Installed Qt from OS4depot, but getting an error message:

as timberwolf also uses shared objects, it (still) works.

Same issue here. I've checked my user-startup and the stuff added there looks ok to me. Does anyone know what needs doing so QT can find the .so that it needs?

assign sobjs: Qt:sobjs

Does not seem to be working.

Thanks for the post. It sure was an interesting read. I still remember Transputers being shown on Tomorrows World.

I'd like to recommend ATI/AMD but I've had nothing but issues with them so go NVIDIA. The card itself would depend on budget and what you intend to use it for.

I suspect problems ahead. There seems to be a boing ball on there. I'm sure that is now Hyperion's property. Funny thing is I'd be tempted if I was confident of receiving my order. I'm in the market for an Android tablet. Too bad there is so much water under the bridge with Amiga inc.

Mike

Fixed typo

@jbni

Well the Pandora http://openpandora.org is the same cpu but clocked lower. OCS/ECS is apparently running fine (UAE-4ALL) not sure about AGA but I guess we can hope. I haven't got mine yet but when I do I can let you know. So in short for A500 class you should be fine, AGA fingers crossed.
