Re: The Amiga Man Website is LIVE!

@328gts

We are a dealer in the USA only right now but we DO intend on expanding potentially into other countries especially if the market is there which we believe it is.

We are just not setup at this time to ship internationally nor are we listed on the Acube reseller part of the website to do so. I do apologize.

What I think we need is something like this:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/

Or this:

http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm

But of course something that works on the Amiga OS 4 platform? Should we start a bounty? Any developers up to the challenge?

@328gts

Yeah that 460 board is looking mighty beautiful!
I think there is a potentially larger market for it as some people may not be able or want to buy the A1-X1000. Or have aging, dying, or dead AmigaOne systems and this is an ideal replacement for those. Not to mention the faster RAM, CPU with Cache, and PCI express!

We are a dealer in the USA only right now but we DO intend on expanding potentially into other countries especially if the market is there which we believe it is. If people take a close look it is interesting all the forums are INCREASING in number and we have been following that trend for some time!

Indeed the A-EON announcement along with the settlement between Amiga Inc. and Hyperion has seemed to breathe new life into this platform as developers that were sitting on the sidelines seem to be more willing to getting this platform to the next level.

It is truly a great and exciting time to be an amigan!

July 24th, 2010

Happy 25th Anniversary Amiga!!!!!
We are pleased to announce and introduce the launch of our official website www.theamigaman.com

Currently the site is in development. However there will be more content and features forthcoming within the coming Weeks and Months. We hope to make this site rich with content.

We are passionate about the Amiga platform! Nowhere will you find more pervasive community that is as creative as it is resourceful.

We are often asked ?what is your target market? to which we reply: ?We think there IS a market for people that want a very efficient OS that is user friendly yet also one that is unique and that is departure from the norm?.

What people new to the platform or ?just looking? May not know is that there is many developments happening right now such as a new modern browser named Timberwolf that is based on the popular browser Firefox. In addition to this there is new Amiga programs being announced and released on a regular basis. There is also new ?next generation? Amiga hardware being released from both Acube and A-EON bringing the Amiga Platform to more modern spec.

To help celebrate the 25th Amiga Anniversary we are including a coupon in our store for "The Amiga Man Bundle" just type in "amiga25" in the cart and get $50 off! In addition we have also decided there will be NO shipping charges on this bundle from July 24th 2010 until August 31st 2010.

The Amiga Man is an official Acube dealer in the Continental USA Only.

Thanks for looking and please stop by often!

I really ought to release my Catweasel drivers, I guess...

The Catweasel Mk4 support for AmigaOS 4.1 (from memory) now stands at:

Amiga DD 880K Read/Write/Format
Amiga HD 1760K Read/Write/Format
MS-DOS DD 320K 5.25" Read/Write
MS-DOS DD 360K 5.25" Read/Write
MS-DOS DD 720K Read/Write
MS-DOS HC 1200K 5.25" Read/Write
MS-DOS HD 1440K Read/Write
C64 1541 170K Read/Write
Apple Macintosh 800K Read/Write
BBC 'B' 100K 3.5" / 5.25" SSSD Read/Write
TI-99/4A 90K 5.25" Read/Write
Atari 800 90K 5.25" Read/Write

I'm working on implementing:
Atari/BBC MFM
Sinclair Spectrum (PlusD)
Amstrad CPC 464 3"
Tatung Einstein 3"

and anything else I can get my hands on.

I've also written a MUI-based disk imager to read/write all these formats. Amiga FFS works and can format, MS-DOS filesystem reads and writes but doesn't format, and fs1541 (the C64 filesystem) is partially working (it reads ok).

Anyone want to help test it?

YES PLEASE!

I will test it all on my Sam 440 Flex! I actually need to write a Workbench 3.1 disk badly as my disk went on the outs and I want to get my A4000 running again!
Been wanting to test the catweasel in my sam 440 amiga for awhile but my house flooded thankfully all my stuff was off the ground but i dared not plug anything in until the water was gone.

THANKS!
