Re: Shorter name for AmigaOne X1000?

@TrevorDick

I always thought that if and when the Amiga "came back" (and by that I mean properly re-emerged as a viable platform with powerful features designed to compete on at least some level), it should have been named the Phoenix, for obvious reasons...

I do like the "A1 X One Thousand" monicker though...

It's all pretty much neither here nor there though, as if/ when I get one, it will simply be my new Amiga

@Mikey_C

We tried to get a Scottish Amiga group organised last year:

http://scottishamiga.webs.com/

It's not very active, although you might want to contact the site administrator to see if he wants to get involved.

I'd be happy to help with whatever you're planning...

Cheers,

Afternoon all...

Some of you might recognise me - I've been frequenting A.org, AW.Net, Amibay etc for a long time now.

I only recently started looking/ lurking around here and thought I'd register.

I sold off all my classic amiga hardware and most of the software last year. All I have now is a box of games and no miggy to play them on...

However, I'm very excited about the X1000 and the recent OS4.1 update, so much so that I'm earmarking some money to buy the X1000 to replace my 5 year old PC as my main computer.

I'm not a born programmer (I am a SAS "programmer" by trade, although I don't really count that as programming!) however something about the new hardware (especially the XCore) and the OS4.1 SDK, as well as the vibrant community that at long last seems to be on the up, have made me seriously think about learning to code on this new hardware.

Anyway, enough from me...

I look forward to participating in the success of the site.

Cheers,

AndyC
