@Hitman
The CMOS jumper is right next to the battery. By default it is placed on (for arguments sake) pins 1&2. By shifting it to pins 2&3 (the common and the other one) for a few moments, and then switching it back, I am able to power up my micro again. This is one of the reasons why I don't tend to move it too much, plus, when I do, it gives me a heart attack when I dont remember to cycle the jumper :)

You think it could be the PSU? The main symptom of late has been that if I unplug the power plug (which leads to a transformer brick and then to the wall socket) and plug it back in again, then I have to remove the battery and leave it out for a few minutes before the system will boot again.
Well, just to let you know, my uA1 has been like this since new, it's something I learn to live with. In order to turn the machine back on after having unplugged it, I remove the CMOS jumper for a few seconds, then the machine will start back up. Power supply? No idea, but I can't imagine why resetting the CMOS would affect the PS's ability to start the machine... Just FYI Simon

@Raziel
I seem to remember that the usbscanner.device supplied is not compatible with the Sirion USB stack of OS4.
Until we get a fixed version I don't think it's possible to use a USB scanner yet.
Sorry

@JeffShepherd
It's not so much a case of relaxing moderation, the standards there will not change. The new forum allows new avenues to be discussed in a civilised manner, and the moderation will only apply to non relevant material.
Relevant topics currently include the Amiga vs Hyperion "thing", so feel free to disguss it to death and speculate until you are sick, but no skullduggery, horseplay, or general loutishness.
You have been warned.
Simon
PS. that's not directly personally at you Jeff, it's a general statement :)

Interesting take on the situation. It may not be too far from the truth as there is a lot of credibility in what you are suggesting...

@Helge
I don't understand why you are splitting these companies up into "sides".
Just because ACube have a distribution deal for OS4 doesn't meant that they are fighting for their cause on their own.
Adam will need OS4 on his hardware, and Amiga have granted him that licence (by the look of it, although there is no mention).
All that remains now is for Adam to get hardware to Hyperion, and someone to pay for the port.
There is no "us and them" situation here.

Well, so far the results have been almost unanimous that interrupts seem to work with all the cards so far. The only exception is Chris (who started the thread) and his card is listed by others as working with interrupts on.
So far it seems no-one has a problem with turning interrupts on, and yet there were so many problems during the OS4 Final install concerning the support of interrupts.
Very weird!

@Chris
Thanks for kicking this off, it's much appreciated. OK folks, we need as many configs as possible, plus please post yours even it someone with the same card already has. It's possible the vendor number may be different, or your interrupt setting may be different.
Just post them, and I'll compile a sorted list once we have a good few.
So everyone with a Radeon card, please post your info here, and promote this list on any other forums/portals you see fit.
many thanks

@Chris
I think it would be a good idea to get everyone on here, and another popular Amiga portal to list their Radeon version and whther they are using interrupts or not. It appears that a Final final version of OS is being worked on (according to a post here by a lead Hyperion programmer) so this problem needs to be worked out. At least if we could compile a comprehensive list of Radeon vs Interrupts, something could be included in the install script to set the tooltype depending on this list.

@AmiGame
Well, I was kind of expecting a Radeon :)
Some users have reported problems with certain Radeon cards and the use of interrupts. The cure has been to turn off the interrupts in the monitor driver tooltypes, but of course, you need to install it first :/
Search around here for items on this subject for more info

Just FYI, I could probably do a 17" resistive screen with USB interface and managing software for around 140GBP, but that is based on volume orders, unfortunately I'm in no position to be able to do that.

Typical press release though, it doesn't really say much.
I had to read it twice before I realised it was a sports stadium.
I'm still not sure what Amigas involvement is, although it seems they are offering some sort of wireless server that can be accessed by phones and PDAs....
I guess more information will follow

@Atheist
Firstly, I think you'll find the RAM must be matched, so a 1Gb stick and a 512MB stick simply won't work.
Secondly, I really think you ought to update to OS4Final, there was problems with ram_handler (I think) which showed this exact behaviour, although whether it made it out to the public or not I don't know.
You are using a beta release of the OS, and as such I think your experiences may be sidetracked by this fact.
Update, and match the ram, then try it.

Unfortunately, it's for an existing project, so it's going to be extra work to remove it. I'd rather just find it and use it :)
