Re: OpenOffice to AmigaOS 4 - When?

OpenOffice does not need Java. Common misconception.

I have permission now to upload it to OS4Depot (not that I needed permission, but..). Expect it there in a few hours. Gotta go out right now, will upload later.

I'll see if I can get the go ahead from Neil Cafferkey.

@RuDeE

I now have a prism2.device I compiled that works fine. If anyone else is interested, let me know.

@RuDeE

I'm in contact via email with the authors of both the driver and wifisignal utility.

I'll direct them to this post too. FYI I have the exact same issues. You can use the older version of the driver (and setprism2defaults utility too) that AmigaKit give you, and it will allow you to hard-reboot with lamiga+alt+alt, but a soft reboot still freezes the system.

You can ask Orgin on IRC, or just leave a note to the maintainers when you upload it (there's a textfield for that).

Thanks. Looks like allkeys might do the job.

Request: Map multimedia keys to script or program

Can someone please make this program for me? :)

I want to map volume keys, calculator, email, browser, etc..

Surely it's possible? I mean, ToolsDaemon listens for key presses but I don't know if there's any way for it to listen on unknown keys.

I know "xev" (Linux tool) has HEX values (I think) for every key, known or unknown. Can't see it being too difficult. Perhaps it can be done for 68k too.

Or is there a program out there i've missed?

Give me IntelliType for AmigaOS please!

@ChrisH

Suspicious of AmiUpdate? A tcpdump capture shows that it gets a list of all updates from the AmiUpdate server via an XML database, and then AmiUpdate searches locally on your harddrive for the updates you need, then lists them.

AmiUpdate doesn't SEND any information about anything you have, at all, period.

Edit: .. and yes, that means the lists of updates are quite large, and has many old things on it. Each and every time you click "Scan", it downloads the whole list of updates all over again. Which has stuff dating back at least 3 years.

@328gts

I sent it to Kicko and he said the same thing, "too fast". Then it was determined he's confusing frameskip with the game being too fast.

Change gfx_framerate=3 to =1 in the .uaerc file and try again. (The option actually means frameskip).

.. but then the game is too slow here.

@328gts

It shouldn't fly. It should be a bit slow actually. That's just double-clicking on the icon to run the game. I assume you did the same?

I haven't tried it with sound disabled. The cpu speed is "real". It shouldn't be fast.

Edit: Perhaps something is wrong with your hardware? It just shouldn't do that. What speed is your sam flex?

@328gts

Really? I have a sam-flex 800mhz, and what I sent you has framerate and audio stuttering here.

I did put the framerate skip at "3", but an A500 certainly runs the game better than on the sam.

You can't honestly say it runs better than an A500? :-/

@Snuffy

"SDK Install output: (Window)
Cannot open "sobjs:" for output - COPY: object is in use"

That happens normally if you are running Dopus4 when the SDK is being installed. It's "libgcc.so" in SYS:sobjs/ in use.

It is 290227 bytes. If that is the size you have, then don't worry about it.

"1) What did this do or didn't do to the SDK installation?
I had no idea on how to respond/do."

Didn't do anything bad. libgcc.so is still installed in SDK:gcc/lib/gcc/ppc-amigaos/4.2.4/newlib/lib/

So if the filesizes don't match, just simply copy it over into sobjs:

"2) Why was the ABC-shell CoreUtils 6.10 not used? I put them in and haven't noticed any shell problems. Maybe it's a compiler thing?"

Not sure.. Do you have AmiCygnix installed? Make sure AmiCygnix is in the user-startup AFTER the SDK. It is important.

Looks like your new Christmas theme has stuffed something up? "Flat" mode isn't working for me, and it's quite annoying.

Edit: Deleted OWB cookies and it's OK now. Weird.
