Re: Getting Napalm to run on AmigaOS 4.1.2?

@Sinan:
How did you get 800x600 with NAPALM?

For me Speed 7 and scroll speed 8 is quite fine using Alfkils version on Peg2!

@Alfkil: Network fixing would be great! I also own an A4000 but which is currently not ready for action (just dismounted it a few weeks ago due to some renovation work in our home)!

Really a pitty. Any chance to release some pre-version of your tutorial to public?

Wow! Sounds incredible! Any chance to watch this thing in action (youtube or so) or maybe even test it on Peg2?

This is marvellous! But the things like mouse/keyboard/sound will be quite hard I imagine!

What about this network stuff? Is this code already included?

@alfkil:

Wow! Impressive what you are able to do here! Really great! What I'm wondering about is the blitting mechanism you mentioned! Since the speed on 68060@MHz with CVPPC in 640x480 was quite playable enough. But when blitting always the entire screen shouldn't this be really slow?

The second point is the GFX scrambling on Peg2 with Radeon 9200 which does not happen on A4000 with CVPPC. When blitting the way you told what can cause these scramblings on Peg2?

As said, the same game runs within AOS4 on A4000 with CVPPC but has scrambled GFX and does not react to neither mouse nor keyboard on Peg2 AOS4! Can these different behaviours within the same OS still be correlated to RTGMaster?
As for RTGMaster: Maybe you can contact Steffen Haeuser as he made the AOS4 fix for it?

Port has been made meanwhile, unfortunately MOS only. See here.

Hi everybody,

unfortunately I do not get any notifications regarding threads I've got marked for it! One example is this one here.
In addition when I click on the Notification button in my user menu I'm presented with an empty site!

Maybe you can tell me what's wrong here?

Many thanks in advance and

Re: Repository server and 68k crosscompiler available for AOS4?

I'd like to have an AOS4->68k crosscompiler wich compiles my C++ projects I'm working on using AOS4 and CodeBench.

Setting up another environment on a Win/Linux platform is currently no alternative for me!

@whose:
What do you mean by "the same information" I already got? The ones regarding a repository server? I really would need one which supports tagging in order to keep track of different development approaches (see apropriate thread on german ANews).

BTW: Did did not hear from you a long time! How are you doing and how are the circumstances for you an Insane? We should write same mails again to each other!

Just installed RTGMaster and the AOS4 fix and the latest NAPALM version (1.4, do not know whether it's neccessary or not). That's all. The same for AOS4 classic. You can try it also with the demo version (and latest NAPALM update if neccessary). As said on classic it works completely fine for me (just use saved games).

One thing left to be said: After starting NAPALM always a GR appaers but this one can be ignored (pressing ignore button).

The entire topic has already been discussed (do not know whether on this side or another) but no solution for AOS4 yet (within MOS I'm not sure whether it works or not).

This approach here with disassembling and so on is the first one I read getting closer into the problem! Hopefully it will lead to success!

Just for info:

I can get the game running on Peg2 but the GFX is scrambled and it does not recognize any mouse clicks or key presses. Pictures of a screengrab and what is really seen (digicam) can be viewed here:

http://amiga.freeunix.net/wizardgroun ... OS4/Napalm_ScreenGrab.png
http://amiga.freeunix.net/wizardgroun ... 4/Napalm_Photo4_small.JPG
http://amiga.freeunix.net/wizardgroun ... 4/Napalm_Photo6_small.JPG

And no. It is not just a bad taken photo it is really like this!
Furthermore I got it running completely on my A4000 classic (at least within AOS4.0 but IMHO also within AOS4.1). It is really fast there and as posted within another thread/site you need to load a safed game. Starting over a new one does not work at all! (But save games of each level exists in the WWW!)

Repository server and 68k crosscompiler available for AOS4?

Hi altogether,

are there any of these tools available? CVS does not come with server support and regarding svn I was told not to use the server part as all (this matches with my own experiences when I did so)!

Anybody any information on that?

Many thanks in advance and

Re: OWB 3.32

Just popping in

Hello again,

with latest OWB version (3.32) I'm experiencing some problems which did not arise before.

First of all, when shrinking the window to its smaller dimensions using the appropriate gadet or mouse and restoring/enlarging size again only the window itself is enlarged but not the content. The content stays in the old smaller area!

The second problem (even worse) is that OWB often freezes completely while entering text in large text areas (like within fora for example).

Does anybody have any idea on this?

Many thanks in advance and

Best Regards

Re: napalm from clikboom and os 4.1

Any news on NAPALM yet?

For me it only works on my A4000 with AOS4.x but not on my PegII!

Using the Demoversion I'm getting scrumbled GFX and I cannot use in-game-menu nor can I select any units or place any buildings. The only thing which works is acitvating a build option for a building (but makes no sence if I cannot place it on the map!).

With NallePUH sound output is no problem on PegII!

BTW: Do I have to change the c2p routines manually in NAPALM.prefs? Since there is no selection possible inside the Startup-Requester of NAPALM!

Best Regards

@Sir_Lucas

Already started trying twith the c2p routines in the demo version but the GFX problem and the not usability (i.e. cannot select units nor buildings) are always the same.

How does the demo version work for you and on which environment (SAM, Peg, AOne)?

Did you also suffer from the same problem regarding non-selectability, no reaction on key presses (besides numeric keys on num pad) and automtic scrolling?

Best Regards

Re: napalm from clikboom and os 4.1

@Sir_Lucas

Thanks for the hints.

Did not try the demo version yet.
Renaming Audio.DreictPaula in full version did not help. I don't even reach the menu screen (I know only saved games are working).

After the intro screen (where the PXL logo is unreadable since its GFX is sth. like scrambled in lines and columns) the screen stays black and the CPU reached 100%.

The only time I had the PXL logo shown correctly was when I startet CrimsonCrisis manually setting the necessary assigns when the appropriate requester appeared. But after again after the intro the screen stays black.

This also happens when clicking the PXL logo away without watching the intro.

Blacklisting of crimsoncrisis did not help either.

Other hints are welcome!

The demo (1.1) runs and with NallePuh I can even listen to the ingame sounds. But I cannot play the demo since I cannot choose any unit nor building, the entire map is visible from beginning (maybe this was always the case in the demo version?) and the map scrolls automatically as soon as I move my mouse pointer to some screen border!

The graphics are scrambled vertically and seem to be adjusted every second just to scramble again in the next second. This repeats all the time.
Do I have to use another c2p routine than Suzy?

So well the demo version runs but seems to be useless (and way to fast)!

Best Regards

@retro

I've installed RTG Master including AOS4 fixes.

I also tried with NallePuh and CrimsonCrisis blacklisted and with JIT.

Always the same: Black screen after intro.

The only thing I haven't done yet is creating the low res screens.
But honestly I don't think they would change anything.
