@Astral
Me too I'm using a CF, formatted SFS. Had a bit of trouble because of the CF speed. Now I'm fine with a TRANSCEND 300x UDMA.
I love working completely noiseless, it feels incredible after a whole day using a PeeCee!

@ChrisH
The monitor tooltype is correctly set to "INTERRUPT="
@Raziel
The ATI 9250 card 3D part of the chip is fine, I've checked it using an old windows computer.
@Hans I've checked both the graphic card monitor: on the 9250 the system has a white screen with the mouse pointer freezed and the internal graphic chip doesn't output anything.
Any other suggestion?

@fastbit66
I've got a SAM440 mini-itx with 512Mb with a second graphic card (9250 with 128Mb). I've set UBoot (updated to 1.3.1a) to boot from PCI graphic card and before the upgrade 1 the two cards were working almost ok with the ACube dual graphic driver "PCI" into "devs:monitors/". Problems usually came from the fact that some app just used the soldered ATI chip, no possible manual action to change which card to use.
The OS4.1 update 1 gladly boot straight from the PCI card and the only device installed into DEVS:Monitors is "Radeon 9250", no mention of the soldered ATI chip, like it doesn't exists. As I've got a 1680x1050 monitor I just want to forget the internal graphic card (installed graphic memory too small) and use the good PCI card which lets me use 32bit color resolution without problems. The problem is that everything that uses MiniGL or SDL apps in full screen just doesn't work: the system freeze and also the mouse and keyboard stop working. Trying to solve the problem I've installed the dual graphic card driver from ACube but that just doesn't work anymore, no chance to see anything from the internal graphic card: the system boots and an alert window before the workbench appear complainig about the "PCI" driver installed in "devs:monitors".
The final solution I've adopted is therefore to uninstall the PCI Radeon 9250, install again the update 1 iso and go back using the soldered ATI chip using 16bit color depth resolution. That let me use any software with minigl and sdl (but I hate those 16bit color glitches.
A part from those problems, I must say that this update 1 is what I was waiting for, just the best AmigaOS ever used so far.

@afxgroup
I completely agree with you... maybe creating a spreadsheet.gadget would help a lot the situation...
A part from that I like your tool for writing and executing queries! Thanks Andrea!

@cygnusEd
Apache 2.2!! (I know, you're just doing a proof of concept, but still good!)
About the Amicygnix Vs native packaging a question: there will be any performance or features difference between the two? Do you think we will be able to stop and restart the apache service to reload its configuration?
Keep it up and I'm sure people will appreciate somehow ($). What do you prefere the most: opening a bounty o free donation on your site?
Speaking now for MySql, can you write down the list of missing function in pthreads so we can contact the F. brothers and tell them clearly what we do need?
P.S. Just a curiosity: why are you still using AWeb?

@cygnusEd
First of all thanks for answering!
Second: sure, an AmyCygnix package based would be much appreciated! Just a quick question: it does mean that I have to turn on all the X server & Co. to use the Apache server? I hope not, as it will be slow as hell on my slow Sammy...
I personally don't mind about the single process issue, as I'm sure everybody will use it only for local development.
About the MySql native driver there are major advantages about: - it solves legal issues, as it is developed by PHP people - has a better memory management, being directly integrated into PHP will share the same memory and move faster data back and forth from MySql - from what I understood it will be the future
For summarizing about the bounty: you 're on for a new port of Apache 2.2.x, PHP and MySql client, all Cygnix indipendent.
Do you think we can contact the authors of the pthreads library (the Friedens) for adding the functions you do need for porting MySql server?

Good idea Nube, just did write an email to him asking to join in this thread.
At least he can give us the idea of how big these ports would be.
Finger crossed.

@Hans If you are talking about speed, I agree with you: lighttpd is faster. However when it comes to available modules, level of PHP support and some XML manipulation Apache is much more feature complete. @ all Glad to see some interest on the subject, I was wondering if I was the only one... I propose the creation of these bounties: 1. Apache Web Server 2.2.x 2. PHP 5.3 (when it is finished) 3. MySql Native Driver for PHP ( http://forge.mysql.com/wiki/PHP_MYSQLND) 4. MySQL Community Server 5.1

I'm just curious how many people would have some interest in a modern AMP (Apache/MySql/PHP) system for OS4 and if there is a programmer that want to try the ports.
Now that we have finally got a modern browser I think it's time to modernize also the Apache port (still at v1.3!) and to port a MySql server working natively on PPC.
Obviously the idea is to create separate bounties for each component, as they are quite a big tasks.
Personally I really looking forward to this as I still stuck on other OSs for coding sites.

@Hans It looks like SAM 440 ep users are out of luck for now
As I own an HD 2440 I really do hope that ACube will not take too long in upgrading both our Sam440ep bios (and will finalize the OS4.1). Hurry up ACube and tell us something!

@Ruud Well, I've just got mine from www.pcupgrade.co.uk and it is the correct PCI card I ordered. I've plugged in in my Sam440ep Psile case and... black screen! Not even a simple flashing cursor! Tried every kind of configuration: - both onboard video card and PCI HD 2400 attached via DVI, then VGA - only the onboard via DVI, then VGA - only the PCI HD 2400 via DVI, then VGA My configuration: - Sam440ep 512Mb RAM with soldered radeon chip - UBoot 1.3.1 - HD 80Gb - Psile case with AC adapter 19v 7.89 A - PowerColor HD 2400 256Mb PCI I think the AC adaptor is not enough powerful... advices?

@joerg
Crystal clear picture.
Keep it up, Joerg!
However I'm not convinced on how an open source based application such as OWB can be ported to an open source operating system like AROS and being "closed sourced" as you said.
Hopefully Stanisław Michał Szymczyk (I don't know which part is the first name, I think 'Michał') will read this thread and clarify the process he is following (or better I could email him asking for that).
I'm curious of his work because I'm convinced that working in "open air" could helps both environment.

I know, it is boring reading about stupid users requesting this and that, but... I would like to use some of my MacOS powerpc application for OS 9.x on my Sam. I'm wondering if the AMCC 440 have enough power in order to make Sheepshaver working. We have Basilisk already working but: 1) not enough speed as it emulate another CPU (68k) 2) it uses veeeeery old MacOS software Besides Sheepshaver: 1) has not CPU emulation (can use native PPC calls) 2) can make MacOS 9.x "newer" application working So: there is a coder interested in a OS4 native port? As a donor I can just say that we waited for a long time now and I don't think that a couple of months more will damage anybody.
Let see what Marcin will do from now on (please Marcin, say something in this thread!).
An idea could be splitting the bounty amount in two: one for Marcin and the other for the MUI4 port. Having MUI4 available could fill the gap between MorphOS and OS4, and make more actractive/friendly our platform for MorphOS developers.
I personally already gave something to Joerg for OWB and I think that two browser are better than one, at least there will be a bit of healthy competition.
One last thing, we must be very elastic with Amiga bounties deadlines: developers aren't getting much money for their work, and their programming environment isn't friendly like in other nowdays OSs...

@joerg thanks for the update! About SVG: please, re-enable everything about it, I use it a lot for web mapping. For example in DoDuo this site: http://www.carto.net/papers/svg/navigationTools/index.svgwas working just fine, with Galekid buttons are blank. Any chance to see a "open in a new window" kind of thing by right click over a link?
