@zzd10h

No, there is nothing in the gray bar; it's empty. But all apps in Extras are listed in the AmiDock preferences when I select the Extras tab.

@zzd10h

Thank you. Yeah, that one. I already changed it back.

What about this other part of my request for help:

In the same "Extras" directory in AmiDock, the shorcut icons for the utilities "docked," which pop up when I click on "Extras," are not showing any more, but they are listed inside the AmiDock Preferences screen.

How can I make them to show up in pull up menu again?

PageStream installations in OS4.1
Just popping in
Just popping in

After almost 9 months trying to install PageStream in multiple versions (3.0, 3.2 and 5.0) today I succeed to install all 3 of them. Interesting enough, versions 3.0 and 3.2 only run without HDD installation and from a USB stick, and 5.0 was installed apparently without any problems in my HDD.

Unfortunately in none of the 3 versions I have managed to enter (insert) any text in a new document. I can place the cursor within a column, but when I type nothing appears on the screen.

Has anyone seen this? Is there a fix for this problem?

SEPARATE (BUT SIMILAR SUBJECT): Has anyone ever succeeded in installing or running PageStream III (or II) in OS4.1? How?

Minimig - Considering to take the plunge
Just popping in
Just popping in

Now that the Minimig and the arm controller are available again, I need help in identifying the best configuration possible. So far this is what I've found available:

- Minimig 4 MB with 2GB SD card
- Arm controller
- Clear case
- US PSU
- Minimig AC adaptor

Note: I'd like to be able to use an external hard disk drive and a USB hub, is this even possible with the Minimig? and if yes, what do I need to make them work?

So my question is what else do I need to order to get a 100% functional system, ready to plug and play. Please keep in mind that I'm not a coder so I'd need a fully configured system. So again, what do I need to order when buying? Thanks

Re: Imo chat client on AmigaOS 4.1.6

It's not working for me. It crashes my OWB every time, even if after I ignore the DSI error. I can't close or do anything with OWB after it crashes. I can start other programs and they work but OWB becomes useless and it is stuck there.

I guess i might be the only one who are using a IM client nowdays but i made this little guide if there are some more out there.

1. First of all you need a browser and i m using MUI-OWB
2. Now surf to IMO You can get a dsi error when you get to the site but click on "More" and then "Ignore dsi-error.
3. Register a username and password on the left side.
4. Log in with the username and password.
5. Choose the network you want to connect too. If you connect to facebook then you use the usernamn and password as you normally do when you connect. Same goes for the other networks as google talk, icq etc.
6. If you done everything right you should be connected to a network and see some users. In the upper right corner to the right of "Set status" you have a small icon that looks like a wheel. Click on it. Now you should get a a small menu. Click on "Pop out imo".
7. You should now have two tabs one named "imo ? popped out" and the other one "imo" Click on the red x named "imo ? popped out" once and close that that tab.
8. Now should see a window with all the users on the left side. Resize the window to the size you want.

Thats it! The bad thing is that you need to surf to imo.im everytime you want to connect and resize the window. When you log into imo you need to choose imo pop out. When that is done you can open another window and surf the web.

IMO supports: MSN, Skype, Facebook, GTalk, Yahoo, Steam, VKontakte, Hyves, Jabber, AIM / ICQ.

Sorry for the bad english!

This is IMO with a browser side by side.

Help with Network interface error 10193
Just popping in
Just popping in

After having to delete my old Internet connection (network settings) and creating a new one, I have managed to regain access to Internet with a newly created Internet interface, that I named "Home." "Home" was also the name of the old interface that I had deleted.

Internet is working oK, but every time I boot up my SAM460ex, running AOS4.1 update 5, I'm getting the following message:

[error] Interface "Home.deleted" configuration failed with station address = 00:50:C2:80:D5:17, Bad address, Unknown SANA-II wire error 10193).

Could someone please tell me how to correct this and get rid of this message? It doesn't seem to be affecting my access to Internet, but I'm afraid it could be something wrong.

Need help with Internet connectivity problem - SAM460ex

I need help refreshing my memory on how to set up a new Internet connection. I had to replaced my old router by a new one and I have lost Internet connectivity.

Could anyone please guide me through the steps necessary to create a new connection? I'm using an ethernet cable connected directly to the router. I deleted the old interface to avoid conflicts; not sure if this was necessary.

So what I need is the step by step instructions to create a new Internet connection. I believe I should start in System: Prefs: but I don't remember all steps.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Help installing and running classic productivity software
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi all,

Is there any easy to install and us, GUI based, file manager and installer to install and use classic Amiga productivity software in OS4?

I was given a link to Disc Image Device in OS4Depot, but I must admit that I am totally at loss with it. Unfortunately, I'm not a software programmer like most of the forum members are. So unless the app had a GUI, I can't make it work.

In my MOS3.1 system, I simply use the File Manager app to insert and mount an adf. Then in the case of apps, all I have to do it's to use yet another app (Installer) to install the program in my HDD.

Is there something similar for OS4?

So far I have only been able to install and have fun with games (which is extremely easy to do and lots of fun), but I want to make a more meaningfull use of my investment. I want to install and run programs such as PageSetter3, PageStream 3.2, DPaint IV, DMusic, etc., for all of which I have the correspondind adf files.

I would very much appreciate any extra help to take my SAM460ex to the next level of productivity.

Re: Timberwolf RC3 available

I just installed Timberwolf RC3 last night and I left it running fine (yes, even the bookmarks were working), but today after I fired up my SAM460ex I got a Guru Meditation Error 80000003.

Timberwolf never finishes launching and the opening window with the Timberwof logo just stays open without moving. I can still use my system and launch other apps, and the Timberwolf windows is allays there on the background.

Why is this happening?

At least I still have my trusty, handy OWB (MOS version) working.

Off-the-shelf joystick for my AmigaOne 500 (SAM460Eex)
Just popping in
Just popping in

Could anyone recommend a plain, simple, off-the-shelf joystick to be used with a SAM460ex running OS4.1.5?

I'm not a hardcore game player so a dirty cheap solution, which could be easily found on eBay, would do it for me as long as it works, and it's stable.
