A genuine full fledged working flash plugin for MUI-OWB would be very nice.

So I expect the new features will be USB2 and a new Shell.

I sincerely hope you and M3x are correct.... Why do people want so badly a shell upgrade, I hardly use it unless absolutely necessary as a low end user?

I think a decent modern browser, email client, Java support, flash support and office suite to compliment the operating system is more important?

I think that with avcodec.library that wasnt so hard to do...

Just to be celar of what I've in mind, the video editor shipped with WindowsXP was a rather perfect goal to achieve(maybe a bit simpler but not so much)...

Yes I agree with you on this I would like something like iMovie of course scaled to what works best with AmigaOS and available hardware, video editing on this level is an essential suite for modern computing these days. I must say with USB camera devices these days we will badly need USB2.0 speed in update 3 cause it would be painful transferring your newly captured video over for editing at USB1.0 speed

USB 2 :)

I think I will give up on AmigaOS if AmigaOS4.x does not receive USB2 support with the corruption problems fixed in update 3. I mean AmigaOS 3.9 has a dodgy at best USB2 support so why didn't AmigaOS4.x come with USB2? Then AmigaOS had another major release update that people paid for and still no USB2 with AmigaOS4.1 and then still no USB2 with update 2. Why is a USB 2 stack so hard to deliver keep in mind I know nothing about programming and whats involved?

If we have to pay for AmigaOS4.2 the next major release and we don't have USB2 in update 3, AmigaOS4.2 will have to be a whole heap special with bells and whistles, features and whole lot of eye candy with some cool software and Timberwolf etc etc etc for me to part with more money.

Yeah i'd love to get it to work on my AmigaOS 4.1 machine it's such a chore dragging out the A1200T to have a blast playing it. I wish Click Boom would recognise the amiga community and release a patch or something, even the source code would be nice.

Is any developers out there willing to add a few features into OWB to get us by whilst we wait the unknown period of time if ever Hyperion release Timberwolf?

Features like.

1. Fast link buttons
2. History browsing
3. Private browsing feature
4. Download management with progress bar!

The list could go on but that would be a good start, I'd settle on number 1 and number 4.

cheers

EA Games Open Source Code Available!

Just popping in

Hi everyone I have done a few minutes browsing for some potential games to be ported to our beloved AmigaOS4.x.

I admit I was looking for Battlefield 1942 which I think would be an awesome port to AmigaOS4.x I found that EA games has release it's source code for SIMS 3 and SKATE 3.

Would any developers be interested in porting either or both of these games?

the link to the open source is below.

http://gpl.ea.com/

Cheers.

Re: Simple wishlist for next AmigaOS

@Daniel

I understand your perspective, I guess I want the feature of flash to become fully supported on AmigaOS4.x platform because multimedia internet use is heavily used right throughout the internet and the use of Java also. I cant properly use my Hotmail account with any browser under OS4.x yes I could setup YAM or similar but it would be much more convienient to use a browser as I use multiple computers and operating systems but I would use AmigaOS4.x if I had this feature at my disposal amoung others.

I also like your suggestions I think they are very welcome additions to AmigaOS4.x.

Yeah I'm with you on having A full FLASH and JAVA implimentation into AmigaOS 4.x. I don't pretend to understanding programing because I don't, but I really can't understand why GNASH port to AmigaOS4.x ended up being to slow to use but I would like to know why? Is it a hardware limitation or is Gnash not a very good flash solution ie. Is it bloatware, not lean enough for nimble software like AmigaOS4.x? I use a HTML5 solution on MorphOS for Youtube video in OWB and although its good it is still slow and loses audio and video syncronisation sometimes. All I know is AmigaOS4.x can't wait for the internet to convert to HTML5 and for Flash to disappear which I believe it won't because Adobe will hardly surrender that easy!

Thanks for the welcome, yes there is definately some positive things happening in the Amiga community. I especially am anticipating the release of Timberwolf and Open Office. These two releases will greatly enhance my daily use of AmigaOS4.1
