poll, epoll, kqueue, etc. can always be replaced with WaitSelect().

@noXLar
Noted them.

@Joeled
An another multi-threaded library, yay! If someone would be interedted in writing a GUI IM program using it, I'd consider it. I doubt anyone wants to use the ncurses-based client.

@HunoPPC
I know about your port, but it's closed source, and it's based on an old version of uhexen2. There have been a lot of bugfixes and improvements since. I push my changes into the official repo over sf.net, so it can be easily recompiled every time a new version comes out.

@Joeled
It's definitely not easy, multithreading and sockets are always a pain. It's easier than an AROS/MOS port tough, because I don't have to port every dependency again with kludges added. I'll open a sub-page for my OS4 ports/plans when I get my Pegasos II.

@Kicko
Cheers, that's definitely motivating.

The system requirements aren't that high, it should be faster than Nexuiz for example.

I also have an idea, and I wonder if anyone is interested. I have a half-baked port of Arx Libertatis for AROS, and I recently started fixing the file loaders for big-endian systems. Since there have been no Odyssey updates since January, Arx Fatalis could fill the void

If you want the clock to be at the right end of the title bar, you have to draw it directly into the screen title, like the original code did.

@Fairdinkem
Oh, I always forget about Qt! Since Roadshow can share SocketBase between tasks, it should be possible to do a Transmission-Qt port without too much hassle.

@netrot
After I updated that port to the latest stable release, I can add OS4 support as well.

@Thematic
That's not how it works, Calligra Office depends heavily on KDE libraries.

@Lokaty
Huno does a port of Cave Story (NX-Engine), I'll check out the rest later. Are these open source?

@ferrels
The only Qt office suite out there is Calligra Suite (KOffice), but it depends heavily on KDE libraries. I once tried the windows version, and I noticed a that I had to run the full KDE Platform in the background.. YIKES!

@tlosm
It doesn't matter how much video memory you have, without programmable shader support no id tech 4 game will work. The first Homeworld game is open source, and a port should be possible.

@ferrels
I understand your frustration, and I did not say you answer was "invalid" in any regard. I merely pointed out that there's an "official" port being worked on for AmigaOS4. I know only what has been said in the announcements, and various updates.
It's flattering that you think I could tackle an office suite alone in the foreseeable future. The problem with GUI applications is that you either have to completely rewrite their UI, or you have to port the GUI toolkit, neither is a small task.

@noxlar
A lot of these are just mods, for example freedoom runs with practically any Doom port. Transfusion and Force Leashed are Darkplaces mods, they require no porting once the engine is there. Terasology and Pseudoform have too high requirements, probably the same goes for Cube 2. M.A.R.S. uses the SFML2 library, so I'd pass on that one fore the time being.

@kas1e
Most of these looks doable.

@Raziel
If The source is available, sure.

@ferrels
I did not say I'm only interested in porting games. AFAIK a LibreOffice is being worked on for OS4. If they opensource the port, then it can be used as a base for possible AROS/MOS ports.

@samo79
In the first round I'll definitely go with games I've already worked with, I'm just doing a little market research. I remember seeing Darkplaces on Huno's site, but it disappeared with the new design, so I guess it's up for grabs again. Also the Nexuiz port uses the Darkplaces engine too, but it's too old to run Xonotic or Steel Storm for that matter.

@eliyahu
Huno has a finished, but not yet released port of NX-Engine.

@tlosm
A Huno is working on an RTCW port. Doom3 is beyond the capabilities of the current OS4 machines.

@utri007
An eduke32 port shouldn't be too hard without the polymer renderer. I know about erampage, I'm a huge fan of the series. I own a boxed copy of the game and its sequel. Unfornatelely erampage32 is a bit buggy, and it's a real pain to get the expansions to work. This website has a package with updated CON files, I'll test it whether they help or not.

Hello amigans!
I originally registered to get a few facts right regarding my ports, and now here I am a week later, waiting for my Pegasos II and AmigaOS 4.1 copy to arrive. Whoa, thanks for everybody who donated!
For those who have no idea who the heck I am, I port various games and sometimes other programs to AROS and MorphOS. My repertoire is about to expand with AmigaOS 4. My question is: what ports would you like to see from me? You can check out my website to see what I've ported to AROS and MOS, those will take less time than doing one from scratch. Of course anything goes, but is has to be open source for obvious reasons. Also make sure that no one else is working on a port of the game/program you suggest. Requests by those who donated have higher priority

These have been suggested so far:

feasible ports:
Unknown Horizons, Speed Dreams, Megaglest, TORCS, Aliens vs. Predator (1999), EDuke32, Odamex, Dream Chess, RTTR, uHexen2, kas1e's list, Transmission Qt, OpenCeasar3, Homeworld, Vega Strike.

unfeasible ports:
VDrift, Rigs of Rods, Lips of Suna, The Dark Mod, AstroMenace, Zero Ballistics, Terasology, Pseudoform, falltergeist, Pioneer, Freeorion, Oolite, 0. a.d.

on the fence:
DarkPlaces (Xonotic, Transfusion, Force: Leashed), Cube 2, M.A.R.S., STK

@Fab
Would this 5k bounty include the open-sourcing of future "maintenance-releases" of OWB? I mean until there's some major rewrite or addition, like the HTML5 player, the PPC JIT, etc.

@kas1e
I don't think you should expect Fab to do the OS4 or AROS port himself. In addition to that, if bug which causes the multithreaded curl to fail is in Roadshow, then that will be fixed by the network stack's maintainer. Once the sources are released, volunteers can port OWB to their platform of choice, like it happened with previous versions.

Just switch to fullscreen mode. If it works then you will see MUI controls at the bottom of the window instead of the youtube ones. Make sure you always have the latest youtube script, because google loves to break their html5 player.

The overlay mode in OWB doesn't use mplayer, but the hardware overlay provided by the video card. The only difference is that the video doesn't have to go through cairo, but goes directly to the video RAM.
