@gerograph

You can create a NTFS partition for transfer between AMIGAOS 4.1 and Linux for now.
The NTFileSystem3G plugin in AMIGOS 4.1 works very well.
Create the partition under AmigaOS 4.1 and format it as NTFS under Linux.
Create the DOSdriver for AmigaOS using giggledisk.

I am getting rusty.

Check your boot order in the uboot menu also .

boot1=s4siicdrom
boot2=s4sii

By the way parthenope wont boot SFS/02 partitions so this may be an issue. You may need to connect the hard drive to the non bootable SATA port and install SLB after booting from the Install CD then reconnect to the original SATA port or reformat the boot partition and reinstall Amiga OS using an SFS/00 partition .

@gurus2000

for you it should be setenv sii3114ide_conf 1022

Then to save it to nvram
saveenv

The bootable DVD should be connected to J23

@gurus2000

Sounds like order of the hard drive and CD drive may be reversed in your setup . I recall this problem has happened to a few people who reformatted their boot partition.

You can specify the drive type in Uboot using
setenv sii3114ide_conf=1002.

The "1002" code means:

1: HDD connected to port 0
0: nothing on port 1
0: nothing on port 2
2: a CD-ROM drive on port 3

@interrogative
This would have to b e supported by the RadeonHD driver first. If you just nned to make sure your cooler is working ok and not constantly monitor it then Linux is your friend for now .

Linux,Debian Jessie,has a sensor viewer that shows the temperature of a Radeon graphics card on Sams. dont think that there is anything under AmigaOS 4.x . I am getting between 34C and 38C with a Radeon HD6670 .

Edit;
There is also a tool called psensor that works under Lubuntu .

@tommysammy

Thank you.
This would project the Sam460 at around 583s for the Big_Buck_Bunny decode.
So maybe 720p playback will be possible.
We await an actual Sam460 benchmark to see.

@SinanSam460

Try the mplayer benchmark your sam460

http://download.blender.org/peach/big ... uck_bunny_720p_stereo.avi

mplayer -benchmark -nosound -ao null -vo null -lavdopts skiploopfilter=none big_buck_bunny_720p_stereo.avi

I think that the results would have to be 596s for realtime cpu decode . (18.20% of an AMD FX 4300 quad core 2.8GHZ =108.4732s)

Using the benchmark figures for the Prometheus 1080p clip that I have of 23.778 and 399.791, the Sam460 may take up to 1825s to complete the big_buck_bunny benchmark though.

Thanks.
I think that it is always good to post benchmarks as it allows you to see improvements over time.
