Re: Tried YetAnotherDesk & Scalos? (Workbench/Filer alternatives)

@ChrisH

I want to try Scalos when I get a chance. I've never heard of the other Workbench replacement. I wish someone would do a review so that I don't have to spend my time installing these only to find out that they have serious issues of some kind.

@Spirantho

Heck yes, I'd like to test it! I've had my MK4 laying around in it's box for the past 6 months. I wanted to install it in my Peg2 but wasn't going to waste my time since no OS4 drivers existed for it.

@Hans

It may just be a problem confined to the PegII. I don't have an A1 to test my theory though.

Yeah, that's been my experience too. USB 2.0 works beautifully and just screams under MorphOS.

OS4 USB 2.0 Support

Has Hyperion given any hints as to when OS4 will support USB 2.0? IT sucks not being able to use the USB 2.0 ports on my PegII.

Amiga Cygnix

I just installed Amiga Cygnix along with Gnumeric, AbiWord, Sodipodi and Gimp on my PegII running OS4.1. I have to say that this package is one of the most professional that I've ever seen, regardless of platform. Installation was a breeze. My hat is off to Edgar Schwan. It's nice having a modern office suite under AmigaOS again.

@virgola

TurboCalc5 is much more powerful than Ignition. It supports Excel files and also exports to HTML. I know that Ignition is opensource and cost free, but you often times get what you pay for.

Great! Any idea when we'll see a finished OS4 port? Or maybe one for MorphOS?

@Lio

I searched several Amiga web boards and also found references at this link stating it was abandonware or at least not for sale anymore since the company and author were no longer around.

I did purchase a copy from an ebay dealer in the UK and it cost me $51USD which is a bit step for old software that isn't supported any longer. He has but one copy left, so if you're interested you'd better act now.

-Mod Edit-

Link to downloadable content which could stll be copyrighted removed.

I've downloaded and installed a demo version of TurboCalc5 on my PegII and I really like it. I also found ADFs for the full version and installed it as well.

It appears that TurboCalc is now abandonware and but I'd really like to use it.

Or tell me where I can buy a used copy with serial number on the cheap?

[edited by chris - please don't request serial numbers for commercial software]

Is this the same guy who goes by Thierry Athiest on the Natami board? If so, then I have to ask the same question!

This might breathe new life into the wxMozilla project as well as bring Mozilla to the Amiga. At least I'd like to see Mozilla on the Amiga.

Re: Special review of the Colmar show

@jahc

I agree. The logic that the show should have been reported on this web site in the French language because the show occurred in France is ridiculous. That is like saying that because something newsworthy happened in Russia that it must be reported in the Russian language. It just sounds like another troll who has a Napoleon complex.
