Update
For some reason, the dev builds don't like URW Palladio fonts..
Launched ok after I got rid of the URW Palladio fonts ....
but launched fine after all fonts were restored to normal.
Perhaps it finished scanning the fonts files after I got rid of the URW Palladio fonts ....
but I am not sure if it even scans the fonts files now after everything is back to normal.

It also crashes here with the URW Palladio fonts, but when I took them out and ran FixFonts it still crashes. I'll try removing all the fonts...

Update

After taking out all the .otag fonts it started to run but gave about 100 errors over the missing DejaVu fonts which also caused errors when rebooting. So I put back just the DejaVu fonts and am posting now from the nightly build.

Postscript. I've tried others on the X1000, but Postscript used to work fine on my A1-XE.

hmm, so is anyone else still able to use lpr with the latest updates?

It took me a little bit of messing around with the settings, but I was finally able to get my Ubuntu 12.04 installation to recognize the printer.

I've got an Epson Workforce 310 scanner/fax/printer connected to my network which I'd like to use with my X1000. I've set up the lpr.device following the docs exactly, but when I try to print something out all I get is a lot of activity and blank sheets of paper. If I try 'Echo >PRT: "Hello world!"' it appears to print one line and stops, but the paper's still blank. Any clues?

Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-M (or go to Exchange then Show "USB MassStorage") to get USB settings program. I don't know what it shows for PTP devicess, but maybe there is an option to force it to mount it as USB mass-storage (perhaps as FAT)?

BTW, one reason I avoided iPhone/iPod/etc is that Apple wants to force you to use iTunes for everything, which is no good for Amiga users. Also, they won't let you use memory cards (which is another alternative to USB mounting). Get an Android phone next time ;-p

Actually my first one is a Motorola Bravo. No problems setting it to mass-storage and having it show up in DOpus.

When you unpack the version 51.22 OS4.x SDK and copy the contents to the devkits:blah/blah/blah drawer in your attempt to get the Cubic IDE installer to install the C/C++ add-on module

Are you sure you got this part right? You are not supposed to unpack or copy the SDK to devkits: As I wrote in the Hyperion forum, you have to unpack it into the "contributions/os4-sdk/" directory in the path where you extracted the add-on (envcpp50.lha). The correct process would be:

- extract the envcpp50.lha into a temporary directory; let's say RAM:
- extract the SDK to "RAM:envcpp50/contributions/os4-sdk/"
- then run the envcpp50 installer

And yes, the article mentions SDK 53.15 because it was written at that time. The newest version is 53.20 of course, as Gazelle says.

I have the SDk extracted to "vol:envcpp50/contributions/os4-sdk", but the envcpp50 installer stops with an error saying I need to copy the SDK to that dir.

Anyone here run a telnet-able BBS on OS4? I've got telserd installed and get the message '*** All telser devices are busy or not responding. Please try again later.' when I telnet to the machine, but the docs are very difficult to understand how to configure it so it accesses my BBBBS setup.

Can you confirm that your "Sam440ep" is a Mini-ITX version? The "ep" bit used by Acube for BOTH the Flex & Mini-ITX versions... (So people using "ep" to indicate the Mini-ITX version are wrong to do so.)

Some people claim ACube say that it is impossible to use the 3D capabilities of a Radeon92x0 card plugged into a Sam440 Mini-ITX. If you can confirm it works, then that would help a lot of people.

I can confirm that my "Sam440ep" is indeed a Sam440ep and not a Sam440ep-Flex. Also I've run Celestia and the Earth demo on it.

I still haven't seen a clear statement whether a card with a Via chip will work or not. I can only say that my NEC based card DOES work.
