I wanted to pass along one little hack I had already put in my start_player script that lets me run streams in a single ongoing player (instead of starting a new one each time you click "PLAY"):

Thanks for the suggestion. Your request is my command.
I modified your suggestion a little though. I made it so the player selection requester doesn't come up
if the player is already running. It's just start the new stream with that player.

Version 1.4 adds the following features: (July, 29, 2023)
Now uses already running instance of audio player without displaying requester.
Added error requester if the audio player cannot be found with AppDir.
Added error requester if ffmpeg cannot be found with AppDir: when downloading.

MediaVault Script v1.4 is now available on OS4Depot.

Is there a possibility to use MediaVoult together with TuneNet 2.18 (Enhancer 2.2 ) for radio streams. ?

When MediaVault was first released I looked at adding TuneNet support to my script but TuneNet only supports streaming of mp3 streams and does not support aac streams. For this reason it is not a good player to use, so I decided not to support it.

The script supports choosing AmigaAmp, ffplay and Emotion to play streams.
ffplay displays realtime graphics while playing. It also support saving streams to a file.

If you want to try the script you can get is on OS4Depot.
Download MediaVault_Script

Mediavault does not find any stations for me tonight ;(

Version 1.5.1 seems to be working fine for me. I tried listening to a presaved US radio station, clicking popular and playing a Germany station and downloading a podcast. All worked great.

vPlayer = "APPDIR:SYS:Utilities/MickjT-MPlayer/mplayer-nonaltivec"

When using APPDIR: you don't specify the full path. That's the point of APPDIR: it keeps track of the path for you. You have to have executed mplayer-nonaltivec once manually before APPDIR: knows the path though.

Try this:
APPDIR:mplayer-nonaltivec

Do you have specific video which not works for you? I can test it.

It will happen on pretty much any video. A good one to use it the Sintel video.
I've found it happens less if I play it from the hard drive and happens more often if I play it out of RAM: or from a USB connected drive. Last time I tried the Sintel video froze at about 14 minutes. Sometimes it freezes sooner.

Just now tested new Radeon HD v.5 for AmigaOne X1000 and is significantly faster than v.3:

Could you do me a favor and try playing videos with MPlayer? When use v5 driver on my X1000 with a 7550 grapohics card, MPlayer will eventually freeze when it's playing a video. I haven't been able to get anyone else to try it and see if that happens for them as well. I've going back to the older version because of this problem. Please....

@ktadd
Good news. After wasting two hours with Comcast/Xfinity's phone support this morning, including getting elevated to higher support, I finally gave up and posted on the Comcast support forum where a Comcast employee helped me get the ban on the email client lifted. I can now use SimpleMail again for my Comcast email!

Sure hope SimpleMail support starts back up again.

I am in contact with the developer for quite some time and he definitely is going to continue his work on SimpleMail. Unfortunately, he is very busy so it is not clear when it will happen...

That's great. I wonder if a financial incentive would help him free up some time?

If I could get SimpleMail compiled on my X1000, I might be inclined to try and fix some bugs. I already submitted a bug a few years ago with exact liine of code that needed to change to fix it but, unfortunatly, it seems nobody is supporting it anymore.

I received that same warning from Comcast, but when I used their test email link with Simplemail, it came back saying everything was OK. Are you up to date with AmiSSL?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly, I was using an older version of simplemail due to some bugs in the new version and I got locked out. I've put in a request to comcast to see if they will unlock me so I can try with the newer version.

On another note with Simplemail, do you or others get an ISI after collecting new emails from an imap account?

Sorry, I use Simplemail in pop3 mode so I can't be any help here. :(

Can anyone compile SimpleMail?

I've been using SimpleMail for my email on OS4 and it's been working fine up until now. Recently my ISP (Comcast) has decided the security is outdated and they will no longer let me use SimpleMail for email. Still work with Yahoo mail.

SimpleMail source is available on git hub HERE
Looking at the OS4 makefile I can see that it can be compiled to use AmiSSL or OpenSSL. I'm wondering if it could be compiled to use a later version of one of those libraries which could allow it to work again.

Hence my question, is there someone who has compiled SimpleMail or can compile SimpleMail? Maybe we could get it updated a bit to use more modern version of security.

Thanks for reading! Oh by the way, your Save As toolbar button is implemented in the new version

Finally got a chance to download and try out the new version. Loving all the supported formats and the Save As with the ability to Configure the setting!
Small donation on the way. Bigger donation to come once recording gets implemented. That would really round out the applicatoin nicely. Keep up the great work! Thanks!
