There always will be those ones who do not want to update anything. If you have an idea how to deal with it better, feel free to suggest of course.

I think you must put the requester with a message like
"with MUI version older then XXX vpdf may not work correctly"
and add a possibility to continue or close it.
This way the user can choose wich action to do

I resolved the long startup time replacing libfonconfig.so
with the one from 4.1FE and it seems all working well

but isn't fontconfig used also by Odyssey?
I never had any problems with Odyssey start-up time

But starting juffed I get in the console the message:
"libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile".
Anyway juffed works well.
I have also a very long startup time maybe related to
fontconfig problems and I am investigating on this issue

@Chris,
I have an X1000 with 4GB RAM, so 2GB must be extended,
I tried both 3940 and 3939,
speaking about speed I doesn't noticed differencies,
but also memory consuming seems identic, maybe I have
not visited the right pages but like you said there
is no way to know how much extended memory it's used.
Maybe you can make a debug version that show the extended
memory usage.

in the beginning I used it in my A1-XE, 3D was never supported
and when compositing arived the 9700Pro was not supported,
so I switched to a 9000 pro.
The 9700 pro in 2D graphics was way faster than the 9000 pro,
thanks to a 256bit mamory interface and an higher clock rate,
but with no compositing and 3D it's a no go

seems that wildcards doesnt work not for rm
but probabily with every shell commands, I generally use ls
because i am used with it on unix machines and wildcards
are not working

since you are working on AmiCygnix it seems that
gimp it's not compiled with libexif enabled,
I would like to know if it's possible to have
a version with libexif, it can be very useful
for the lens correction tool

I think it's the amount you must move before
the mouse reappear, so if you move the mouse
a little bit it doesn't reappear
