i will do more with Magellan this weekend (68k version on AROS 68k). So far it works great (except icons). The functions are really astonishing and the speed. Let alone the "file format sniffer" . I am total excited and the native versions will become a new standard for Desktop on amiga-platforms, in any case certainly on all AROS distributions. My next version of AROS Vision will already be based on Magellan. Thanx to everyone and expecially to itix and kas1e.

thanx a lot for your work and all others that are involved

I have a problem on (AROS) 68k that I had before (with the old version). Perhaps someone can help me.

I use PNG (Ken) Icons in my distribution but they are not shown correctly. Perhaps there is a chance to solve that problem or a option I am not aware of (picture below)

I use the GCC version 68k

they have a cross-platform engine:
http://kha.ktxsoftware.com/

if they would support amiga-platforms with it, it would be a nice addition

Yes kas1 is already doing that (creating a page on sourceforge and put the source in svn). It would be much better if it stayed a "community project" and not divided in different platforms.

Re: New site for developers of all camps

You could post it under crossplatform/application development or crossplatform/languages.

If something is missing I can easily add it.

I used only AmigaOS because I think it is the official name for it. But it is a matter of taste. i used "classic" at first but there was one person disliking it. It is difficult to make everyone happy

BTW I have changed it to AmigaOS 4.x

New site for developers of all camps
Just popping in
Just popping in

you find the site under:
http://www.amigacoding.de

I want to describe shortly what I think what this site should be about and the rules.

First I think the situation is that it is very difficult for programmers that want to start programming (be it amigians or developers that want to start support one or all amiga platforms to get informations. Informations are split on different special sites or even lost (like utilitybase). But this special sites are mostly dedicated to only one platform and there is no central resource anymore covering all platforms. There is also no platform covering all platforms where programmers can discuss without the typical discussions.

So I think this site should be:
Neutral, covering all platforms. Emotional discussions with phrases like "True", "done right" will be stopped by moderation (for that there are already enough sites)
Resource for programmers and people interested in programming/development
Supporting communication between programmers and collaboration between all camps
Any insulting comments will be deleted without any comment

There are parts of utilitybase in web left:
http://web.archive.org/web/20100207002844/http://utilitybase.com/

I would like to ask the people who have contributed to utilitybase in the past add the informations on this site (to save them). I cannot do it myself.

Additionally:
Huge Database
Newest version of the Forum-Software

The only problem is that I could not take over the data. I have added most of the informations of the old site. Please reregister and add missing informations.

Because there is need and no seperated forum just for development (software/hardware) I am setting up a forum for all camps (classic, AOS4, MOS, Aros). Basic idea is neutrality, so no discussions with sentence like "done right", "true" or similar.

http://forum.natami-news.de/index.php

I would like to know what you think about structure and what should I change.

I have a basic question to all. The owner of amiga.org is asking me if I want to move all to amiga.org instead of having a completely separated site.

my site:
http://forum.natami-news.de/index.php

or as sub-forum on amiga.org

i personally prefer being separated but I would like to hear different opinions.
