Just chiming in after a long disappearance to say Update 2 has been applied to my X1000 and so far so good, no issues. I did update on top of an Enhancer 1.5 install so no doubt the official OS programs overwrote any other programs that foolishly may have been given the exact same names and paths. If I decide to add back any of those (probably not) I will give them new names.
Not certain if it's a placebo effect, but it *seems* my X1000 is more stable after the update. But time will tell.
My Sam440ep in the sweet Relec case has been sitting idle for years now, but I think I will dust it off and do a clean install of OS4.1FE Update 2 onto it.
Thanks, guys, for the Christmas surprise.

Is there an alternative for ADRipper for the platform? Or is it a one-of-a-kind useful tool?

I had this same situation bite me hard several days ago, causing the ramlib DSI so early in the startup that I could not boot without startup-sequence. Unfortunately my backup partition was not as current as I would like, so I really did not want to do a full restore from it to get back to working main partition. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out which part of several amiupdates run at same time caused the problem.
Never did find it on my own, but the thread K-L points to above mentioned z.library. So I copied over the z.library from the backup partition and now I am booting from main System again.
And next I am doing a current backup.
Going foward I am only going to let Amiupdate to one update at a time and not multiple, so I can easier track down a problem. Also will keep my backup more current. :)
Thanks, guys, for the info that steered me right.
EDIT: Hmmm. Is z.library the only file affected, I wonder? It's the only one I replaced to get back to booting.

Have not used my X1000 very much at all in recent years, but lately I am turning it on a bit more. Glad to see this work happening on Odyssey. Thanks, Roman, and to all who are helping! Typing this from Beta6.

I also paid for Wings Remastered and figure it is money lost. That was now years ago, and I have moved to another residence. Not even sure who to communicate my current address to or if it would even ever matter. Sigh.

@mritter0
Any system-friendly program that lets you select screen name or screenmode can be set to open on display/screen of your choice. The names of the modes are prefaced by "Board 0" or "Board 1" if you have two cards.
Even some old software that is not RTG aware can be forced to open where you want using a mode promotion utility.

@mritter0
You can use Amiga-N and Amiga-M keyboard shortcuts to move from screen to screen as always, or the depth gadgets at top right of screens.
Or find a utility that allows mouse to move directly from edge of one display to the other. I was trying out one before from Severin. Sev, are you listening? Is that something you released?

I am not speaking about the X5000 at all because I don't have one and don't know what the limitations and capabilities are.
But to further clarify how multiple monitors work in the Amiga world.... it's not like it is with Windows/Mac/Linux on other systems.
One of my X1000 systems has two graphics cards to support two monitors simultaneously. An Amiga screen can be on each -- as in Workbench on one display and, say, a DOpus or other application screen on the other display. I can switch the mouse pointer between the displays and of course see them both at the same time. But I cannot have one double-wide screen stretch across two displays. I can do screendragging on each monitor if that display has multiple screens assigned to it.
It's good and it's bad. For sure, it's different.
And the system does NOT support dual displays using only one card.

MPlayer is free. Not even sure why it's listed on the store as something to be sold. That said, many have contributed to bounties to spar porting and development.
I'd suggest asking LiveForIt for advice on best, fastest version to use with RadeonHD compositing. I am not 100 percent sure the one on OS4Depot is the fastest. I think I am using an earlier version of his work than what is there, for better results on my X1000. Sorry I am away from my Amigas until tomorrow so cannot check the version I am using until then.
Also, benefiting from the RadeonHD-supported version of Ward3D is Blender, which is loads faster with that support.
And there are games, but I'm not a gamer so will let others chime in.

@Marko
One thing I have learned with Amigas since the downfall of Commodore is that it tends to become necessary to run with the same hardware for years or decades longer than planned. I enjoy using my X1000 tremendously and see it as a very special machine. I figured owning two specimens would increase my chances of doing so for as long as I want to. In other words, redundancy -- and knowing I could get an extra Nemo motherboard easily if not cheaply in 2015. In 2016, that's no longer possible.

This has become a nice holiday tradition! Besides showing the talent of an artist and programmer (and musician!), it shows what can be done with one of the best, most capable applications on our platform. Sketchblock gets better and better with every release.

I know nothing of endianessesses. Heh. But I do believe there is something wrong with JavaScript in Odyssey under AmigaOS(4.1). I think that is where the terrible memory leak is, so I'd support any effort that gets us to a fix for this.
At the suggestion of another user, I have disabled JavaScript by default in Odyssey and now enable it from menu selection only when I visit a website that requires it. Afterward I disable it. This way, I can leave Odyssey open for hours and hours and hours without my X1000s locking up. Before, if I let Odyssey run too long, eventually I would have a locked up machine.
Anyway, I'd support anything that gets us to an update/fix quicker. We seem to be at a standstill until now, for whatever reason.
